I rated this Historical Monument 5 stars because of the recognition of many unfortunate lives lost. However, this cemetery/ memorial also has various other structures. Such as a pool/ sprayground, small playground, and a full-length basketball court. All were empty during my visit.

We visited the cemetery today and it was so beautiful, serene and well cared for! There are only two gentlemen who take care of the grounds and it shows that they treat it as a place of honor to our service men and women who are buried there! Special thanks to James who is so knowledgeable and kind!

Questions & Answers

The graves are so close together. Is the remains really buried in the cementery?

As far as I'm aware, yes. I don't see why they would mark someone as there then inter them elsewhere. The national cemeteries always need to make good use of their space.

I think those might be spouses or dependents buried in the same plot. I'll confirm that and post accordingly.

I am curious on why American Flags were not placed here for Memorial day?

We're there to put them out and was told only doing the new cemetery! Very upsetting, I was just a volunteer you'll need to check with whoever is in charge!

I'm trying to find a picture of my friends final resting place. When I try to find it it says she isn't there. I have her grace number. Thanks for any help you can give me. I'm in Massachusetts so I can't just go there.

If you have the information, I'm willing to see if I can find the grave for you. I live about mile from the cemetery.

If a veterans' remains are donated to science, will the family be entitled to an American flag?

That would be a better question to go through veteran affairs. I don't see why not, but I'm sure this doesn't come up that often.
