I forget the gentleman's name but doing business with Chuck's Coin & Jewelry you don't feel like you just did business more than you feel like a friend of yours gave you the best and most fair price the market allows. Went to Silver and Coin Gold & Jewelry and they offered a mere $1,750 for a 1oz American Eagle I knew that was an insult went to Chuck's Coins & Jewelry and got $170 more. Very pleasant and secure setting with an impressive inventory to boot so this is my go-to for any future purchases for sure. Highly recommend!!

Questions & Answers

Do you guys buy and grade coins?

Cody | Sep 9, 2021
Chuck's Coin | Sep 9, 2021

Hi Cody, We do purchase both collectible and bullion coins, however, we do not submit coins to third party graders on behalf of our clients. If you would like to give us a call or swing by the shop, we'd be happy to look over your coins and give you our opinion!

I have what I think is a rare Roosevelt dime. Is 2015 with a big bump on the head. A printing error. I was wondering if you guys know if that could be something that could have some collectors value. ?

Hi Dolan! Feel free to swing it by the shop and I'll do my best to let you know exactly what you have and what its value to a collector might be.

I recently have been researching gold coins and pamps. I am curious to which will be worth more in say 10 years ? I've came to understand that certain minted coins,(uncirculated) are worth both they're weight and dates of mint discontinuation ?

Chuck's Coin | Sep 10, 2019

Thanks for reaching out Michael. Some coins can carry an additional "numismatic" value beyond metal value, however that is rarely the case for your modern bullion products like the American Gold Eagle, Canadian Maple, or bars like PAMP Suisse.

I have alot of error coins and im looking to get them appraised and sell them. Any ideas where i can go?

Chuck's Coin | Sep 10, 2019

Hi Jeff, thanks for thinking of us! We would be happy to appraise your coins for you, and if the price is right, we're always buying. You can drop by any time Monday thru Friday from 8am until 4pm and ask for Sam - he's our in-house numismatist and would be the correct person to talk to about your error coins.

Do you deal with Stamps? If not do you know a stamp collector in Redding or close by who could evaluate the old stamps we have

Fred Carrero | Sep 10, 2019
Chuck's Coin | Sep 10, 2019

Thank-you for thinking to check with us, Fred! Unfortunately there hasn't been a viable stamp market in Redding for quite a few years, and we haven't done appraisals on them in over 5 years. You may try checking with the Redding Stamp Club to see if they can refer you to an appraiser, otherwise the closest that we are familiar with is in San Francisco.

I know your are "Chuck's Coin" , but do you deal in paper money, ie. Star notes - rare and not so rare, trynard and binary bills, etc?. My husband also has 7-8 Susan B Anthony coins. would you be interested?

Marjie Correa | Sep 10, 2019
Chuck's Coin | Sep 10, 2019

Hi Marjie, The Susan B. Anthony $1 coins you can go ahead and spend. While you don't see them often because people prefer paper bills over coins, they are just a regular modern coin and don't have any special value unless they are the "proof" variety. Replacement banknotes ("star notes") and lucky notes like binary bills can carry some premium, but unfortunately it's not something we deal in. Something like eBay may be a good avenue for selling those items. Thanks for thinking of us! - Charles

I have about 100 old wheat pennies and a Indian Head penny from 1903. Do you know anyone that would buy Them or at least look at them and make an offer. thanks

Orlin Sparks | Sep 10, 2018
Chuck's Coin | Sep 10, 2018

Hi Orlin, wheat cents are relatively common and outside of a few key dates they're usually worth $0.02 per coin. 1909 was the last year the Indian Head cent was made, and according to the Red Book it can be worth anywhere from a few cents up to $30 depending on it's condition. If you would like to bring them by, ask for our numismatist Sam and he would be more than happy to take a look at them for you.
