Simply this agency might as well NOT exist! As said above, They do not save lives, they make lives harder! I have submitted 2 request to move, for same property, the property submits the RFTA, but gets no response back, more than a month now for second time! No accountability or oversight! I used to think I had a great worker, not anymore! The portal no longer provides a section to leave a message for worker call back!! Has to be a better way, or higher contact! Last phone call with worker not pleasant, flip side, I’m finally housed in a new SHRA Property!! When desperately in need of peace and safety, waiting for a safe place to be is very hard!

good experience professional staff agency needs to provide landlords with info on families with vouchers. I was given the number to a liaison hopefully she can connect landlord with potential tenants

The absolute worst to deal with. It is actually shocking. And I am a landlord, I can not imagine what SHRA clients go through with you people. You have probably rendered so many people homeless due to your incompetence and inability to provide services. 3+ hours on hold, office still closed due to COVID for some ridiculous reason as all government agencies are essentially open. Why are you closed? Why are you unable to provide basic services to residents and landlords? Why?

Go to there website. https://sacwaitlist.com/public
Can I get housing low income can I get section 8
I once heard of the Self-Sufficiency Program that they offer to working class people to buy their own home. If you haven't already looked into it give it a try.
It took like a hour or more they deal with a lot of callers
Go on internet and put low income housing and print out the 5 pages of low income housing. There's alot of new apartments that when you call them ask them to be on a bonds waiting list. Mostly all apartments has aleast 60 unit that are low income but won't tell you.
I call at 7: 58*9 let the message play and keep pressing to hear again..over n over...This been like this for years..its stays busy.. and when u do get a hold of your worker ask them for their extension because front desk/ answering service wont give it too u..unless u get one that doesnt care🙄😁
My advice, first find out what your case worker's name is, then you go to the housing website and see if you can find her/ his name there, probably by looking at " staff " or click where it says " contact us" or look at whatever paperwork or mail you may have from them, you may be able to find it there, good luck.
Just about everyone accepts it since the law passed,it just has to be the dollar amount that the owner is asking for
You have to continue calling and it’s gonna be hard to get in contact with them but you can get their number off of Google
@wendygreen it’s a “Drawing” but they do prioritize ppl with bigger families and eviction notices.I been waiting since September I have a ill wife and 3 little ones I have to take care of off one income and behind on rent a lot.My application states “Being Reviewed “ for the last 2 months. So basically who knows when it’s post to happen because I’m under the priority list
Just make a new email account and start there.
What finger printing
Housing Ombudsman?
How can I find out if i have a application on file
Who have you been in touch with to follow up?
If the parking lot is full you have to find parking on the street I've walked 3 blocks one time because parking lot was full
With section 8 I'm not sure.
Go to the tenant portal on the shra website and you can request a worker to call you. My worker gets back to me in 57 hrs
You want to call the number
No Not yet
Yes call 311
You might lose your voucher!! Make sure they don't reside with you, but it's risky!! #UncleStinkee

Neither San Mateo or Solona County fall under the jurisdiction of Sacramento County. You need to contact your own housing authority to ask about moving to a different county and the process for porting out.
yes
Usually when it ask for a code, it means that you must go to the office of the complex that you are applying with to obtain the code.
H V A S H ??? Are you meaning HCVP? Which stands for Housing Choice Voucher Program, otherwise known as Section 8. Then there's PCHVP which stands for Public Choice Housing Voucher Program. You can apply online for any of these programs whenever the Waiting Lists for them Opens Up. Most of the time the PCHV Waiting List Opens a lot quicker & a lot more often. Please note that a lot of the time these places are available in what is sometimes considered the project's.
You have to wait until the Waiting List Opens. You can even apply for Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers or Even just Waiting Lists in Different States if you want to leave CA. But You might Want to be Able to Pack Up & Leave Immediately Because I Lost a Unit that Became Available for me to Move Into but Because of Mail Issues Due to the Apartment Complexes Incompetence I Did Not Receive the Letter in Time & the Unit was Given to Someone Else & My Name was Dropped Down the List. I believe that the website is Affordable Housing Online. Then you Choose Which States or Counties you want to Apply to. As for CA Housing Choice Voucher Waiting Lists I believe that Los Angeles is Open for Senior Public Housing Until Aug. 10, 2020. As for Sacramento it's Closed & so is Woodland, & the Surrounding Areas I have No Idea as to when they will open again. All I can say is keep an eye online. Good luck.
Yup
Dear viewer Your section 8 is as good as gold. Whether or not a particular areas are currently vacant in a residency department, I can not answer that question ; however , one can go online apartmentfinder.com or other websitesbut overall I would just Google search low-income apartments in Sacramento or section 8 voucher apartments in Sacramento.
If you keep bugging them a couple days
Apply 7th& I.
Has To Be Because First Place Didn't Pass Inspection,Or If The Manager Let's You Out Of Deal I Suggest You Call Free Legal Help & Get An Attorney To Help You (That's What I Did)
YES, & SHOULD IMMEDIATELY IF NOTHING GETS DONE BY SAC HOUSING AUTHORITY ALSO CALL CODE ENFORCEMENT,IF THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING YOU CAN ALSO REPORT IT TO FIRE DEPT (THATS ILLEGAL & FIRE HAZARD) IF THE LANDLORD DOESNT STOP YOU PAY RENT YOU COME FIRST
Tell Them You Want On Both List Sec 8 Voulcher & Low Incoming Housing That They Find For You,, First Time I Waited Almost 14 Years But Couldn't Find A Place That Didn't Have Waiting List ,, This Time It Took Me 9 Yr This When I Got My Voulcher I Had To Go To Milford Ca LASSEN county & Found A Place Immediately I Got 3 ext in Sac But There Was No Housing
Talk to self help housing they even took me to look at places

Have you tried speaking with someone at the office or who handled your case?
Reported to the section 8 office
It can take a long time. You have to stay proactive with the application process. Check on the status of your application frequently, so they don't try to skip you. It can be a good idea to contact a case manager to work with you in your application process so that there is someone there to ensure the do their process right and expediently.
I dont know the laws about that. I would try calling your states tax assessor.
Appointment for what?
If your worker isn't doing their job, then you write and send in a formal complaint.
No, you actually want to look for a rent that is around your voucher amount (Payment Standard). The TTP (Total tenant payment) is the adjusted 30% of your monthly income and approximately what you will pay for rent. If you rent a place that is less than the Payment Standard your rent will most likely be less than your TTP, if the rent is equal to the Payment Standard your rent will be exactly your TTP, and if the rent is higher than the Payment Standard your rent will be your TTP plus the amount the rent is above the Payment Standard. Hope this helps.
Im not sure whats available. Best to call shra directly. I need it too.
NO, i just went for an orientation recently, and the lady explained that we can not rent from a family member.
