Finally made it to Fitchburg... the whole initial reason was to come visit Ryver Styx brewing. This was no disappointment. Of course to each their own, and I would totally understand if someone found the artwork too dark/morbid (I mean, it is named after the river of Death...) but to me this is the most beautiful tap room I have seen thus far. The artwork is simply amazing... plenty of playing around with the art and the location with some mise en abyme, just loved it! The art does not stop there, they have their own mini river Styx boats for taste flights... just awesome. :) The staff was lovely and very pleasant to interact with. Of course the beer was very tasty. Got to try 15 beers or so. I enjoyed their lighter summer stuff, but I am a bigger fan of their stouts and stronger winter offerings (just personal preference). While more and more craft breweries open by the week... I would highly recommend this micro brewery to anyone! 👍

Good beer, great people, terrible terrible TERRIBLE location. Fitchburg is a dump and they should move. Beers outside by fireside, sure if you enjoy the constant screams of emergency vehicles and the ever so polite local vagrant that stumbles by. With the new traffic pattern being such a disaster I don't think I will ever be back.

TLDR version: great place but just okay beers. Went this past Saturday in the evening, surprised it wasn't busier than it was but that may be due to it being the first very hot day in May and people being outside doing other things. They do have outdoor seating area with a good truck that day and fire pits. Overall the theme and decor of this place is fantastic everything is themed and artwork everywhere inside just a totally cool vibe. They have a few classic arcade games, shuffleboard and a few board games you can borrow. They also have cool merch for purchase and prints from local artists. The beer however I think needed some extra work. Menu is heavy tilted to the NEIPA, and Hazy Pales, single/double/ and triple IPAs. (To be expected with the market). They do have a few other options being sours, stouts and one seltzer that day. Seltzer was tasty but at 10% a bit too much to be a refreshing drink for the summer. Basic stout was big and well balanced but their version aged on Oreos was sickly sweet and a small pour from a flight was more than enough for all four of us at the table. The hazies as typical with most places these days are pretty similar to each other, nothing really stood out about any of them from most of what's on the marke but were pleasant. One beer however (HOP 45 I think it was) was just off. When it was getting poured it kept foaming uncontrollably, took them about 4 or 5 to get a sample glass filled, aroma very solventy and had a severe bitterness , but not in an intended IPA way. It was the only sample I couldn't finish. The sours were pretty good overall and they even had over as a slushy but unfortunately it was having issues and they told us to come back and get it when it was frozen. When we did the machine was completely shut down, so they have us 2 smaller pours to compensate. It wasn't requested by us but great customer service. That goes for the whole night. All the staff were super pleasant and helpful. I'll probably go back after I give them a little more time to hopefully get some more styles worked into their mix.
