Shea Concrete installed some prefabricated front stairs and railings for us last year and they look fantastic. The stairs held up well over the winter, we followed the instructions and didn't use any deicers on them. Instead we got electric mats that melt the snow and ice. However, the railings did start to rust a little. I sent our sales rep an email with some pictures and he told me that they would have someone come out and repair them for us when the weather got better. Today they came and repaired and repainted the railings and they look like brand new. From previous experiences with contractors I thought that I would have to repeatedly follow up with them, however, that wasn't the case at all with Shea Concrete. I highly recommend them and we will definitely use them again!

Congratulations Shea Concrete on 70 years of excellent quality business. My home came out beautiful and the pricing was spectacular. I would not recommend any other than Shea Concrete to friends and family or everyone for that matter. Thanks again.

I had a great experience with Shea and the associate they used for old bulkhead removal. I put in an email inquiry for a quote at the end of Dec and was contacted by a rep named Rich W. who was very nice and told me they don't do the removal of old bulkheads and had Jim Killion from Killion Excavating call me. Jim was absolutely great! We first talked on the phone on a Tuesday or Wednesday and the following Sunday morning he came out to my house to take a look at our situation. He was very polite, professional and gave me a lot of good advice as well as a quote of course. I called him later that Sunday afternoon and told him we'd like to move forward and he had an excavator delivered to our house the very next morning! What was supposed to be a 1 day job of removing the old bulkhead turned into 4 days to due varying difficulties, Jim kept me informed throughout the process and stayed true to his original quote. The new bulkhead looks great!! The quality of the precast and the steel doors look amazing, my wife and I couldn't be happier. I would like to thank Shea Concrete sincerely. I had tried contacting several precast bulkhead companies and encountered rude secretaries, unanswered emails and unreturned voicemails. Shea concrete showed me that they care about all their customers including the new ones, and the quickness we were able to get our new bulkhead installed was surprising and impressive. Thank you very much, I will always recommend Shea and certainly contact you again for any further precast needs in the future.

Questions & Answers

Continued: footing at each front corner is sufficient? Or do I need to support the whole front length. I'm worried about cracking it. Thanks, Dave

Footings in the front corners are fine however you will need support in the back of the steps If there's no footings in the back and you have a concrete foundation then we can place angles on the foundation to support the back of the step

Good morning! We live in Marlborough, a Fafard development 25 years ago, and our concrete steps are pulling away from the house. A machine can push the entirety back up, but would need my plants removed. Is there another way? Thanks! Lori McCray

Sometimes you can use a large pry bar to move the stairs. It's amazing how easy they can move with the right leverage.
