UPDATE BECAUSE OF MEW MANAGEMENT!!To start out, I was paired with roommates who have different life styles and we don't even speak. The fire alarms are always going off and they aren’t normal fire alarms they are the extremely loud ones and it’s scary, annoying, definitely is not a normal thing to be happening considering they go off almost every day. The new management will have your car towed if you leave it parked for more than 15 minutes in the circle no matter what your excuse is, The parking is beyond ridiculous and way too expensive for what they charge for rent in this building they need to be reminded that we are in Lowell and not Boston. The Wi-Fi in certain rooms doesn’t work at all and management has been way too lazy to fix it even though they promise Wi-Fi. The new management is disrespectful and awful compared to the old employees that I met when I first moved in. I overheard one of the people who worked in the leasing office disrespecting the man who cleans the hallways and they also started doing apartment and room checks which I think is a complete breach of privacy and I don’t understand why they think this is necessary or ok. If you are looking to live in an over prices dormitory with things that look nice but break within one week of living here then this is the place for you. Do not move here you are wasting your money

The Edge Merrimack Rivers is the perfect place to live. It has everything! I visited this property a little over a year ago. I knew immediately that this was my future home. The staff was friendly while giving me the property tour. You really don’t have to leave home for anything. It has the 24 hour gym, lounge and a game room with various entertainments, including shuffle board, foosball, billiards and complimentary stand alone arcade games. It’s all just for your enjoyment. I’ve been living here for a little over a year now. I renewed my lease simply because I now consider this home. The office staff is amazing. They are always ready and willing to assist with anything. Nothing in life is perfect, never the less, to date, there is nothing they haven’t been able to resolve or accommodate in the most seamless and efficient manner. I must tell you "Katie" is a star. When it comes to the maintenance team, they can literally do anything. Every maintenance request I’ve had, has been handled promptly and efficiently. One of the maintenance staff (Paulo), has been very accommodating in adjusting certain fixtures in the apartment to meet my comfort level. He has also been able to install the TV and clock in the room. Like I said they can really do anything. I would encourage anyone who is looking for a peace of mind and a property you can enjoy living in to choose this place. I have never been disappointed since I’ve chosen it. I know you will love it too.

Me and my roommate just moved in- for the entire application process they were constantly on their game responding immediately and super friendly. Move in went unbelievably smooth. There was a mix up with me and my roommate at no ones fault and the staff (Katie and Charlotte) accommodated us in seconds of our issue arising and were so understanding and helpful. I have never had property staff so kind and quick with resolving issues. Thank you girls!!!

Renters Insurance is not required but is highly recommended. Renters insurance is very inexpensive and covers your personal belongings in the event of a fire, theft, or natural disaster. Edge is not liable under these circumstances.
No, the property is a non-smoking facility.
Once you move in, you can submit a service request online or simply call the leasing office. If the issue is an emergency, we will provide an afterhours maintenance emergency phone number.
We offer many different payment options for you to choose from. You can set up monthly ACH payments, or pay rent by check or money order in the office. You can also make a credit/debit card payment online; however there is a convenience fee if you pay online using this method.
Yes, Merrimack River does allow cats and dogs. There are some weight limits so please contact the leasing office for more details.
Since the Edge does individual leases, each resident is required to complete the rental application, roommate matching form (if you know who you want to live with and if you are using our matching service), and the lease agreement. We will also need a copy of your government issued I.D. Your guarantor will have to complete the guarantor application, guaranty agreement, and we will need government issued I.D.
Yes, you can sign a lease agreement without a guarantor. If you plan to qualify on your own, you have to make and document that you earn two times the monthly rental amount per month. You will also have to pass the background and credit check based upon our rental criteria. There are a few ways someone can qualify to live at the Edge. We take proof of bank statements, trust funds, income documentation, and I-20 forms for International students.
Since most residents are full-time students, a guarantor is needed to get your lease agreement approved. A guarantor can be one of your parents, aunt, uncle, older sibling, etc. All residents go through a background screening and guarantors go through a credit check. The income requirement for a guarantor is three times the monthly rental amount. Your guarantor is not needed in person to sign your lease, we can send the paperwork to guarantors electronically. Not everyone will need a guarantor, but some will if they do not have the income on their own to qualify.
Always remember, first come first serve so the earlier you sign your lease, the more options you have on your preferred apartment.
When you complete the application process you will complete a roommate matching form where you can document who your roommates are. If you do not have preferred roommates you can indicate that you want to use our roommate matching service. We will place you with the best possible roommate based upon your roommate matching profile. If you sign for a One Bedroom floor plan you do not need to complete the roommate matching section of the application.
Edge does one-year lease terms. Please contact the leasing office if you need a short-term lease.
Edge will furnish all apartments at the property. Please contact the leasing office for specific items provided.
Individual leasing means each resident will sign their own lease agreement. If one of your roommates moves out of the property for any reason, you do not have to worry about having to cover their portion of rent. Each resident will qualify accordingly and have their own lease agreement. We do allow two people to sign a lease for a one bedroom apartment.
Yes, the security deposit amount is $500. The security deposit is refundable at the end of your lease pending damages, cleaning charges, etc. Since leases are individual, all residents will pay the security deposit and have their own account with the management office. All fees must be paid prior move in time.
Your rental payment will include rent, high speed internet, water, sewer, and trash. The Edge will pay the electric company directly, and residents will reimburse the property. So you do not have to set up any utilities in your own name! If you have roommates, the bills are divided evenly, so you do not have to worry about your roommate paying you for the utilities since every resident has their own account with the management office.
Lynette, we actually have a flash sale on our 4 bedrooms rights now! We have a few rooms left at $824 but this won't last long! You would be able to do that, if you wanted to rent out the entire unit you would just have to rent out each bed space.
