About 2 months ago my boyfriend's sister started fostering a kitten from this shelter that had been found stray. We met her, absolutely fell in love, and applied for her almost immediately and were approved for adoption and assured that she was reserved for us specifically. She was very small at the time so we had to wait a considerable length of time before she was big enough to be spayed. She went to a different foster a few weeks ago to be socialized with other cats. We were expecting to bring her home sometime this week. With her being healthy and reserved for us we felt comfortable purchasing everything one might need for a new kitten and we excitedly set everything up for her. We then recieved an email 2 days ago informing us that she had been adopted out to her new foster as they get first pick. Normally I would have no issue with a foster having first pick, but we reserved her 2 months ago, before she even went to the new foster, and were assured she was ours. We had no forewarning of this possibility. We are heartbroken that she will not be part of our family.

Not only did I leave with a simply adorable, affectionate cat, but I was also equipped with toys and feeding bowls and a little tower for claw and scratch boards, and food, both solid and moist and I'm just amazed at how generous and kind and thoughtful these people are.

This place used to be awful with terrible conditions for cats. Since it’s been redone in the last couple years it looks awesome! The staff are friendly and genuine. They don’t make you jump through too many hoops like some other animal rescues. It’s easy to volunteer or visit the animals. I just wish they had more dogs. 2 at a time (which are usually just pit bulls) makes it hard to find a dog that’s right for you when you’re looking to adopt.

The Adoption rates for dogs are: Puppies Under 1 year $325 Adults $195 Seniors & special needs dogs $100 And please consider the ongoing costs of owning a pet including vet care, food, training, supplies, etc.
Great question! Our adoption rates are based on age due to vet care. Please find adoptable animals and rates here: https://www.franklincountyanimalrescue.org/adoption-process
Look up a woman named brenda steady she might be able to help but idk.
looking to adopt small adult dog
I dont think an animal shelter takes garage sale items... They how ever do need cleening supplys and per food for the animals there.
That's not really what this site is for if you have concerns you need to call or directly message this business
They do not take in cats for owners to spay and neuter though... try your local veterinarian or affectionately cats
Keep checking as they always have kittens and black ones that usually are not adopted
Did anyone help you

There aren't any dogs right now. Many of the dogs that come in are adults
I think you can. I think if you go there they are open 2-6pm everyday
They are open again. But I'm not sure about the vsnip. You would have to call them.
You would need to call them or there is a place in Burlington also that might be closer. But for any you need to make an appointment with them.
