There was a huge New York flag in the marina store, but not an American flag. No bueno. The store was nice and clean and had a good selection of beverages. I’m not sure about the marina though, as it was our first time there and we don’t have a boat. This review is mainly about the food truck on the Thompson’s property. Shortys has good flavored food, good sandwiches and pizza, and the tacos looked pretty decent as well. Everything else missed the mark. 4th of July weekend (2021) @ Thompson’s marina in northville. Sure there was a lot of people, but not really any different then a food truck corral or fair. We waited 2 hours for 3 sandwiches and three hours and 20 minutes for a personal cheese pizza. That was absolutely crazy. Sure you have to have good help that know what they’re doing, but you also need to know how to manage, and you missed the mark on that. You were busy making pizzas when you should of been in the truck making sure everything was going smooth and perhaps on the grill, because that kid that had two cheese burgers on the flat top had no idea what he was doing. A loud speaker could of helped more to hear the orders that were ready. Thirdly, when we were ordering our food, we found out that the pizza’s wouldn’t be ready for 2 hours. So we ordered other food to hopefully eat before we got the pizzas. That shouldn’t be a problem right? Except we didn’t realize our sandwiches weren’t being made until the pizza was done. We waited for an hour and a half until we asked what was going on, only because we heard some woman that had ordered before us asking about burgers because you had ran out tacos and pulled pork. And while you also want all the food to come out at once, we don’t want to wait two hours on a Stony patio looking at each other when we could be by the lake looking at the beautiful mountains instead. Food trucks are not just about the food, they’re mini restaurants, the service and timeliness of the food coming out, also matter.
