I reached out to this organization because I’m having trouble with a feral Tom cat who is spraying around the neighborhood. Whoever was communicating with me on Facebook (they don’t return phone calls and apparently only use Facebook for communication) was very persistent, insisting on the need for me to start feeding this cat so that they could trap him. I did not take issue with this strategy but made it very clear that I was not willing to feed the feral because I am more concerned with my own indoor cats’ well-being. Mine are both males and get extremely agitated when this cat comes around; so I am not willing to feed it as an open invitation. When I said this, the person representing habitat for cats typed five laughing emoji (pictured) and then blocked me. How very professional. It’s really sad that there are so many animal-rights people who have no idea how to interact with other humans. They really do a disservice to the cats because they are not providing actual service if they can’t communicate adequately. I’m sure I’m not the only person that this is happened to, which means there are plenty of other people out there who are getting blocked by this organization and therefore many cats who are not being helped. Do better.

Habitat for Cats NY is a highly unprofessional place who doesnt actually help and are only interested in "how to pay". They won't hesitate to block you even if you have cat who needs rescue. THEY DONT CARE FOR CATS. Dont use their services.

It took some time to get a response, but I understand this is due to this organization being run by volunteers and not having Paid round the clock staff. Once I had an adoption appointment, the volunteer was on time, professional and took time with me to explain the process and sit with the cats to make the best match possible. I was very pleased and love my new fur baby. Definitely recommend this organization!!

Truly beautiful souls. They helped me save a kitten new bedford animal control wanted to euthanize. Beyond thankful to have people like this in my community.

We do not think it is. Our adoption fee is reasonable when you take into account the care & medical treatment the cat/kitten has received.
No... All the kittens or cats presented for adoption have been fully vetted & been spayed or neutered. This benefit is a cost we fund through donations & adoption fees. An adopter will get to enjoy a new pet without needing to schedule vet services themselves.
WE GOT A FEMALE KITTEN,A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO.THEY WERE GREAT TO DRAL WITH.I WOULD RECOMMEND, THEM TO ANYONE.THE PLACE WAS SOO,CLEAN,AND THE LADY THAT RAN THE PLACE,WAS SOO NICE.AND SHE WAS VERY REABLE
We do still post in memory donations in newsletter, I'm sure it was an oversite which we can correct; (there was an unforseen change in the volunteers who handle this.) Please contact us via the website with your information and the mistake will be corrected in the future newsletter. thank you
Typically we only trap in the Westport, acushnet, New Bedford & Dartmouth area.
Habitat for Cats is not a veterinary and does not offer that type of service . You would need to contact your own vet.
The type and number of cats or kittens we have vary from week to week. it is best to use the web site to contact us. thank you
