I really wanted to like it. I really thought I would like it. Unfortunately, the food was very average, and painfully slow. It took 41 minutes to get my sandwich. I know it was peak busy (though probably more busy on a weekday?), but if it's going to take that long to get a sandwich at a deli, you should warn people when ordering. I'm all for being understanding, but set expectations. I can keep myself busy that long, though, so I figured if the food was good it would be worth it. Sadly, it wasn't. The sandwich was just what you'd make at home if you were on a budget, and the pasta salad was swimming in oil. So, three stars if it wasn't so slow, but two stars when taking everything into account.

Staff is very friendly. Sandwiches are made fresh to order so it may take some time but definitely worth the wait.

We were skipped over by everyone eating lunch. Were offered no compensation for THEIR mistake. Obviously the last time we come here. Menu is very simple

We've always heard that this downtown deli is a popular place and wanted to check it out. It was a definitely a different experience. We thought it might be a small-size diner(like Wheelers Cafe), but surprisingly, found it to be pretty open and spacious inside, with plenty of seating. It had a nice, quiet, homey and relaxed atmosphere. It was a bit confusing at first. We walked in and no-one called out to greet us or to tell us what to do - and there was no sign, either. We heard several voices coming from the off-side back area; so, we wandered toward that direction and discovered that the waitress was on the phone, behind the counter, busily taking an order. Afterwards, she hung up, handed us both a menu, told us to make our orders, pay for it, and then go sit down anywhere we liked. It was a funny odd experience. At least, she was nice and friendly. The food once it was delivered, though, was quite good. We both ordered a bowl of soup with a half sandwich. It tasted freshly-made and hot. After that, we were pretty much on our own. If you needed anything, you got up to get it. There was a self-serve counter nearby with beverages and condiments, and a bin to put your used dishes in when you were done. The decor was interesting, too. The place had a country feel to it, with an antique Coca-Cola display and red & white checkered tablecloths. There were also other historic antiques to look at, set on the shelving above, and some sections of the walls were covered with white boards which you could leave an autograph or a message on with a marker. It was rather fun and amusing to read some of them. I am certain we will return to visit this place again. Everyone seemed to be very nice and friendly there - the townsfolk who came in appeared to have an easy commaderie with them. Next time, we'll know where to go, how their procedures go, and what to expect!
