Terrible experience; my dog came back with a bruise and limping, winced in pain if I tried to touch his foot. Would rate 0 stars if I could. DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE

This is my first time at the Bel Air Banfield. I've been a long term client at another Banfield location that has close to a 5 star rating. But in my personal experience that location was very unprofessional and I felt that they treated me and my dogs very poorly. So I was very pleasantly surprised by the responsiveness and kindness I was met with at Bel Air Banfield. I was seen by Dr. Anna Dechtiaruk today and she was very pleasant and caring. She didn't push products at me or used threats like I didn't care about my dog or played around with her health and well being, which happened to me at the other location. The lady at the front desk was kind to me too. I was a new client but I called a week ago and I explained my situation to her that I kept getting declined heartworm prescription by my old vet (the expiration date was in October of this year) for unknown reasons... And she scheduled me in with no problems. I have my heartworm medication for my dog now thankfully and they were really kind to just give me the one month supply free of charge because they were out of the 6 month supply. After what I experienced at my old vet and my other dog's passing of October of last year. I don't look forward to going to the veterinarian probably just as much as my other surviving dog right now. But I'm glad I took her today, and I'm glad I went to this location because for me it was a world of difference on how we were treated and respected. I hope this continues and I wouldn't be deterred by going on ratings. Everyone's experience is different and I hope you have a good experience at this location like I did today.

I was a new client and made my appointment over a month ago online. I did not receive any contact from this location besides the confirmation email when I first made the appointment. I went in with my cat and dog today and waited at the unmanned front desk for almost ten minutes when I was finally greeted (using that term lightly) by Angela the office manager. I let her know I had an appointment for 230pm. She informed me my appointment was canceled because the system allowed me to overbook them and I would not be seen. She stated she tried to contact me. When asked what number she called she could not answer because I was a new client and all my information was deleted when she cancelled my appointment. I never received a call from Banfield and always answer local calls. She was unapologetic and cold. She told me you can reschedule at "white Marsh, Abingdon or Christiana I don't know where you came from" this statement was said with such a menacing and unsympathetic tone I felt as though it was a microagression. I have never in my life been treated so poorly in a healthcare setting even for animals. There is a shortage of doctors and they are not taking any new clients and are even turning away their existing ones and flooding the surrounding Banfield with their patients, making it that much harder to get an appointment elsewhere. Angela sets such a poor example for what patient care should be. Leaving the front desk unmanned, telling me she didn't know where I came from, even if I were white this statement would have been degrading, not reaching out to me to notify me my appointment that I waited over a month for was never going to happen. Who would ever trust this person to be a an example for others to follow? Don't go here friends. Sounds like they are about to shut down anyway and with leadership like that it's no wonder.

We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?

Banfield Pet Hospital | Sep 8, 2020

Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
