Highly recommend anyone going to see Dr. Birnbaum! Every interaction I’ve had with her has been so pleasant! She’s super detail oriented and really cares about me as a person. You’re in good hands!

Terrible experience and don't understand the positive reviews. Perhaps they didn't see Suzanne Birnbaum who is rude, unprofessional and inept. If you dig down you will see plenty of negative reviews. Check out complaints on BBB website

Been coming to this location for quite a few years. I love the staff and the optometrists there. They are very friendly and always go above and beyond. I love the different deals they hold for glasses and exams as well. Dr. Birnbaum is absolutely amazing and always very helpful. I always recommend this location to everyone.

I am so grateful that I stopped there yesterday. I would give them 10 stars if I could. The employee who helped me was Nickolyn; the world would be a much better place if we had more Nickolyns:). A couple of nights ago, I did more minor version of a Ralphie, from the Christmas Story; I had dropped my glasses, and stepped on the frame, bending the side enough where they needed to be adjusted. I had stopped into my original optometrists,’ before work, only to be shooed away, scorned that I should have made an appointment...for a simple 2 minute adjustment. I had to go to work until 6PM, and I became anxious because, it being a Friday, I wasn’t sure I could find a place to fix them by Sunday AM (I’m going out of town for 3 days for my biannual brain MRI, to check for recurrence, which already put me in a nervous state). I recalled Optical Outlet being on 19, on my way home, yet I wasn’t sure of their hours. Though it was a bit dark inside, I walked up to the door to check their hours, and I saw that I missed it by 45 mins; they had closed at 6. Feeling defeated, I slowly walked back to my vehicle, and a very kind employee had poked her head out, asking if I needed help. I brightened up very quickly; there was hope! I explained what I needed, she listened...she cared (an extreme difference from the service I had earlier that day, at my own optometrists‘), she took my glasses, and said she’d be right back. Shortly after, she came back out and handed me my glasses which she had adjusted perfectly. (Ralphie would have been as pleased as I was;). I was beyond grateful, and I offered to pay, but she kindly declined. I drove away very relieved, feeling much lighter and brighter, and she hadn’t even known how badly/quickly I needed them fixed because of my upcoming trip, driving across state, tomorrow, to my brain MRI checkup. That was exceptional, selfless service, which is extremely rare; I’ll definitely be going there again, in the future, versus my other. Thank you, Nicholyn!!

If you have vision insurance, you can expect to have coverage for some aspects of care. If your eye condition qualifies as a medical issue, some coverage under your medical insurance may apply. We’re happy to answer any questions on vision insurance and to work with you to optimize your benefits. Although our financial office is well versed in the complexities of insurance coverage, it’s always a good idea to review your specific benefits with your HR department or insurance carrier.

Taking your child for a comprehensive eye exam at an early age and maintaining the recommended eye care schedule as they grow is the best way to ensure your child's vision develops correctly. Visual skills support optimal learning and full participation in school and all other activities. Our pediatric eye care services include child-friendly and age-appropriate exams to check visual acuity, eye tracking, focusing skills, and problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, lazy eye (amblyopia), crossed eyes, dyslexia, color blindness, disease, or medical conditions. Depending upon our findings, we’ll discuss what’s right for your child and prescribe eyeglasses, vision therapy, or additional procedures as needed.
