Toilets, no showers, but free. Nice area. Love the nearby town. Watch for ticks.

Could only stay 1 night. Construction on the bridge started the next day. People need to clean up after themselves. Trash was abundant.

We did a drive thru as we came off the AT. Thinking about using this campground as a base for future section hikes. This looked at bit sketchy to my husband and me. Looked like some folks are here long-term. We van camp and backpack so we are comfortable with vault toilets, rougher campgrounds. But we did not feel comfortable with this campground.

Great small, free, campground. 2 hole outhouse and a stream nearby. Nothing real official but could fit quite a few rigs in the middle field.

Yes definitely

I guess you can't reserve anything here, so do I run the risk of not finding a spot to place my tent? My family is from the area, and I'm coming from the beach. Just hate to drive 4 hours and not have anywhere to put my stuff.

We were there July 4th weekend, grass wasn't cut so many of the spots needed someone with a weedwhacker. Two other campers had them obviously well prepared

Hello, couple questions, is tent camping welcome, are there fire pits at the campsites, where do you get your wood, can you fish there (what lisence needed)? Thank you so much!

Laura Wells | Dec 2, 2019

Tent camping is welcome! Some have pits there already, wood was collected from the area and we brought some in as well. There is fishing as far as licenses not exactly sure we let the children do the fishing the adult supervise because we had our oldest with 8 down to three years old.

How do you find this place on GPS? Is it one of those "ask a local" to find it?

Khelsi Tyner | Dec 1, 2019
Greg Hess | Dec 2, 2019

If you've made it this far you can find it. I hate to be vague but the roads leading to it are clearly on the map. Not hidden at all. Once you turn onto 605 from 60 it is impossible to miss.
