Had a great time shooting pool on nice tables---Friendly locals for a small bar ambiance---Barmaid gave us plenty of attention---Had cold Budzero and Heineken NA beers in bottles---

Melissa behind the bar is as good they get. Warm, inviting, professional and funny, she is exactly what they needed. It is refreshing to enjoy the service of a true professional. It otherwise hasn't changed much but it didn't really have to. Karaoke, pool and a great jukebox and even an old school shuffleboard table! Lastly, I was impressed that as one of the few remaining smoking establishments, they somehow manage to keep the air tolerable for the rest of us. If, like me, you like a well staffed dive bar, you should try the 8 ball lounge.

"Cool" is all your opinion of the place. Open gay bars in the area that i know of are Purple Rhino across the street from 8 Ball and although I have never been there personally i know people who talk good things about the place. Alternatively The Oasis in Gulf Gate is a somewhat new open gay bar that has males in underwear dancing and prancing around the bar to add to the fun and aesthetic pleasure of the crowd. Id assume drink prices are pretty much the same at both lounges. Go out and have fun!
Saturdays karoake starts around 9:30 but get there early to get on list to sing.
