It depends on the expert level of the child. I volunteer there and because the horses are meant for therapy rides, they ask several questions about experience.

Generally GallopNYC Lindenwood is open until 5pm. If lessons are being held, the stable remains open.
GallopNYC currently (Fall 2017) offers private lessons for $50 for a half-hour and $80 for an hour.
