This is just a train switching location. No tickets can be purchased and it isn't a boarding location either. It's located in West Lake Wales. When the railroad 1st arrived in West Lake Wales, it was a thriving little city! They had a restaurant and a motel. They had houses that only railroad personnel occupied! It was actually going to be down town Lake Wales @ one point! Back in the 70's, there was a piece of metal sticking out of one of the railroad cars! It was able to throw the switch, which caused 80 something rail cars to derail!! Some of the railroad cars were actually in my back yard! No one was injured but there was tons of beer scattered around! Several of the cars were carrying beer. There was alot of property damage. My back yard and the railroad were the only ones to suffer property damage. it was several weeks cleaning up! The railroad hauled off all the larger pieces and brought Track Hoe's and front end loader's in and dug large deep holes and pushed the rest of metal and debris in and covered it up! We are still unearthing things today!
