On our way back from Santa Cruz ,going east on hwy 152 just after the summit we pulled over to check out the san Luis reservoir. A windy spot with a great view. No immensities but easy parking. Excellent place to break up a drive. Take the time to soak in the view and calm the nerves.

Basalt campground WAS excellent. It is now closed due to work on the dam. Official word is that Basalt will be closed for up to 10 years. The afterbay camping and day use areas appear to still be open.

Si ,pero no en todos lados ....hay parkings para motorhomes y carros , y de ahí se camina x senderos hasta llegar al agua que no está tan lejos.... Las facilidades del lugar generalmente están cerradas ......

Right now in the big lake (San Luis Res.) You shouldn't swim or eat any fish from the lake because there is blue green algea that can make you sick.
