Cool experience seeing this historic Mission in person. We didn't go inside, but walked through the garden. This is a very photogenic place. It's on Santa Clara University campus.

Eighth mission of 21 in California, right on the Santa Clara campus. What a beautiful place that's richly deep rooted in California history.

Gorgeous church right in the midst of Santa Clara university. Incredible architecture. Huge and ornate. Bells ringing, although it’s a recording and not the original bells on the roof. Restrooms, parking and water fountains at the university.

Gorgeous! This is a great place for pictures. It's so beautiful with it's many rose bushes some so large they look like trees. There is also a cemetery (gated, no access but you can see it through the fence) and a plaque for the Natives who once lived there. The college campus also has vast lawns, is beautifully landscaped with great architecture; a photographer's dream from family photos to nature to selfies you're going to get a great picture around the Santa Clara campus.

Getting into the church itself is wheelchair accessible. Parking is in a covered lot about 2 blocks away. Check, before you go, with the University about shuttles.
And
Saint Clare of Assisi, the foundress of the order of the Poor Clares.
I've only been there once for a wedding but the religious artwork done inside sanctuary are breathtaking.
There is no mission demarcated area. It’s engulfed by the university
Your talking about history
I'm sorry, I don't know.
It is on a university campus. I did see dogs being walked around the mission/ building but not inside it.
Yes, from the side doors.
Rectangular right on the campus of Santa Clara University. The grounds are well maintained and pretty to walk around.
Mission Santa Clara de Asís is a Spanish mission founded by the Franciscan order in the present-day city of Santa Clara, California. The mission, which was the eighth in California, was founded on January 12, 1777. Named for Saint Clare of Assisi, the founder of the order of the Poor Clares and was an early companion of St. Francis of Assisi, this was the first California mission to be named in honor of a woman.

Mission was rebuilt five times since 1851 with three sites on the Santa Clara University campus. It has a loggia running down one side with a wisteria arbor. The other side is a walled rose garden. Several low steps lead to the grand wooden doors of the sanctuary.
Near university of santa clara the mission was built first then the University came about 60 to 80 years later.
It was named after Saint Clare of Assisi.
7days a week from 7am to sundown.
About 241 years. It was founded in January 12, 1777.
