The technician had a lot of experience, was kind and polite. The gentleman was on time, professional and helped me setup my pin on the keypad system. He explained how everything worked or would not work in certain situations. He was thorough as he checked everything before he left. Thank you R & S, for being quick and considerate!

Professional from the initial phone call. Made it out same day, which is quite helpful. The garage door works great now, very easy to lift. We didn't want to attempt to adjust the spring ourselves so we let the professionals handle it. Communication before and after visit was great - they let me know when they would arrive and actually provided a 1-hour window rather than an all-day wait. Definitely would use this business again.

Assuming there would be 10,000 cycles total, at four cycles a day, your garage door springs should work between 7-9 years before a need for replacement is necessary. Rarely though, springs can break in as little as a year.

What are some signs that indicate an unbalanced garage door?

Tim Eastwood | Sep 8, 2019
R&S Erection of Vallejo, Inc. | Sep 8, 2019

First, whenever you close or open your door, one side may move upward or downward noticeably faster than the other side. Second, the garage door opener motor makes loud sounds, which is due to the excess weight of an unbalanced door. Opening and closing may take longer than usual, and you may hear other odd noises. Third, the panels of a metal door may flex, buckle or bind as the door is ascending or descending.

Does homeowner’s insurance cover garage door?

If your vehicle hits the door, your auto insurance may cover it. However, it will not cover damage to your garage door. However, if this was accidental, your home insurance will likely cover the cost of repairing your garage door. Different insurance companies and different policies will yield different results. You're better of speaking with your insurance agent.

My garage door seems unbalanced. What should I do?

R&S Erection of Vallejo, Inc. | Sep 8, 2019

An unbalanced garage door can be something that homeowners may not be aware of until they notice that they are unable to open or close the door manually or when the garage door opener motor burns out prematurely. Most frequent this is caused by the weakening of the large springs that provide counterweight force against the weight of the door. You need to contact your service provider immediately if you notice any irregularities regarding the balance of your garage door.

A new garage door with installation usually costs between $500 and $1,000 and should be completed within 5 hours the least: the price increases or decreases depending on the type of garage door to be installed. For example, if you’d prefer top garage door brands such as Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, CHI, or Carriage House doors or if you're looking for something essential for your property, then these factors are most definitely to be considered.

You can consider using a manual lock on your garage door in case you won't be physically present for a few days. It is not convenient for everyday use, but in case you're away, and the hackers find a way to break through your code, they would still have a hard time opening the physical lock. Also, make sure that the surrounding area is well-lit. Lastly, a motion-sensing light can be an effective method of scaring thieves away.

My remote control is faulty. What should I do?

The condition of your automatic gate's remote control needs to be maintained to ensure that it works perfectly. Check your batteries from time to time because they tend to fade, and a sign of that is when the red light fails to blink. Replace the batteries and try again if this is the case. In case the problem persists, contact R&S Vallejo for further assistance.
