I want to give him 4 stars for his ability to practice medicine but dumping a sick patient with 2 days notice because she's a High-needs Medi-cal patient is an unscrupulous move. The front desk says he doesn't take any Medi-cal patients but in fact I know that he does. So the above synopsis was basically my own conclusion. Wish us well, my daughter is so sick from Covid 19. I have no hard feelings. They system is broken but it's hard being left out in the cold.

Fantastic doctor. Caring, thoughtful and provides excellent care every time I visit him. I recommend him to anyone in need of a primary care in Torrance.

I've been seeing Dr. Muttalib for over 10 years, and he listens to me and prescribes what he thinks is best. Sometimes I explain to him that, having gone through liver failure and one transplant, I know well what's going on and the best meds for various situations, and he listens, considers my opinion, and usually prescribes what I request. He is very caring and concerned, and he patiently and attentively considers my reasons for believing that my current problem is, for example, hepatic encephalopathy and not depression. I list my symptoms, discuss research from peer reviewed papers, etc. so he knows I'll always argue my case and I generally know whereof I speak. If I were not already aware from past experience of symptoms and probable causation, he would probably prescribe what any other general practitioner would prescribe. For people with known serious medical conditions, I suggest a specialist. But Dr. M will always see me the same day when I need him, even though I cancel more often than not! Re the inefficiency of the charting, I was just telling my caregiver yesterday that they needed to change. Voila! The nurse who has taken over for Norma has apparently instituted an efficient system, with the list of current meds on the top sheet on the left side of the chart, which she went through after taking my vitals. She's a lovely woman and she's old-school in her methods, methinks. I expect the labs and meds will be more efficiently charted from now on. In fact, I heard her calling someone and telling her that she needed to bring in all her meds because according to her chart, there seem to be some contraindicated medicines and the nurse and Dr. want to make sure they have it right. Good on them!

the doctor is friendly and a listener, he tries to hear every word, the first thing I didn't like is that he didn't know my parents medications after being their primary doctor for a year and a half, he had to copy their medicine from the containers, and although he's aware of my dad heart problems, it never occurred to him to give my dad blood liquidizer, I had to remind him the last visit. The main problem is that he is relying on non qualified people to do the rest of work, he told me he's gonna refer my parents to three specialists, then walks out the room without giving any orders to the front office, expecting that the patient with the front office will figure it out, his two Nurses Norma and The other one are good for nothing, I called Norma once for 9 days, multiple calls everyday she never picks up, and when she finally did she was super rude, although, not even once I went to the clinic and saw her working, she's always walking counting stars, she never called to tell me the lab resaults, when I called last time, she was like "come see the doctor or whatever". In all this mess the only help I got was from Mira, she's always overloaded, yet she picks up when I call and make things done.
