This is a great fun place to be at, but my review is about people who work (and ride) there. I am a novice dirt rider who came to the park to make my first round if mistakes. I ended up in a wrong (expert level) trail with a broken coolant hose and non-ridable bike. I had no idea what to do and how to get out. Lucky for me, a fellow (a lot more experienced rider) found me there and went for help. Soon the rangers came to help me out. They rolled my bike through the bushes and then picked it up on their truck. Unfortunately i know the name of only one of them, Ryan, but i want to express the word of appreciation to all people working in the park. And special thanks to Ryan for letting me to leave the bike in the park overnight and assisting in loading it to the towing truck the next day.

Plenty of room to park, bring your trailer to park. it's a long day at the races. No fee to watch.. it would be nice if the snack shack was open. Exciting to watch these little young racers and all the work that goes in it. Drivers are very safe. The cars are small but fast. Shown in the photo is the winner 🏆 of both races #1. Good time for families on a weekend.

Great place. Not too big. Has different trails for beginners, intermediate and novice. Also has an area for beginners to practice. Big parking lot, and only $6 per car per day.

Just stopped by to take a couple of photos after stumbling across it while looking for large birds. Park rangers were very nice and pointed me in the right direction. The guy in the photos saw me taking pictures and gave me something to shoot and a big thumbs up after.

We are a park for motorcycles and ATVs that are registered with the state of California.
You pay here. There are no online reservations anymore.
At the moment there's no open fires allowed but you are allowed to bring a small gas grill as there are benches to eat at in the parking lot area
They're open, you need to make a reservation on the website. I was there last weekend. I don't think UTVs are allowed, I've never seen any out there....except for the rangers.
No camp ground. Its very close to san jose city. So anywhere there or morgan hill. Maybe an airbnb.
I don't believe side-by-sides are allowed at metcalf. Check out hollister hills SVRA, you can bring it there.
As long as it's not a Tuesday or Wednesday it should be. I think the MX track will be closed for a couple of weeks
Yes
As long as it is legally registered. You need a green sticker or a license plate and a California Department of forestry approved spark arrestor.
No, you will have to go south to Hollister or north to Carnegie
No, they're definitely not open in wet weather. This area and the trails are comprised of clay, not regular dirt, so the moment it starts raining they typically close the tails and tracks. It's like riding in wet slime, not normal mud. They've had people stuck for hours in remote areas, and rescue efforts get stuck too. They're fairly slow to reopen tracks and trails until things have dried out pretty well for the same reason. The Facebook page is updated faithfully, if you follow it you'll be aware of closures and reopening real time. There's also historic posts (do a search if you're curious) explaining why they're more vulnerable to shutdown during wet weather.
You can ride anything you like as long as it passes the ranger inspection, i.e. spark arrestor, emissions requirements, etc. If you have a concern, give the ranger station a call. They are super helpful!
$6 per vehicle, per day. Note that a vehicle is your car/truck/van and can carry multiple bikes.
I don't know you can call Metcalf an see
