Nice quiet campground. Perfect for winter camping.

Passed thru here several times when I hiked on Batona Trail. Seems nice. And I loved the pump well. I also loved watching people riding beautiful horse gracefully. From here you can hike to almost everywhere thru the trail, with Apple Pie Hill Fire Tower just miles away, and lots of crystal-clear lakes! But be careful not to get your truck/car stuck in the deep sand right past the camp site.

Grabbed a one night permit at the village and backroads up to the camp site for a night of winter camping. Nice location and plenty of room! Outhouse available if needed. One thing to remember is that the Pine Barrens is all sand. Behaves like a desert. As soon as the sun went down you can feel the heat quickly leave the ground and it gets several degrees colder there than the surrounding areas of NJ. Plus the water on the edge of the camp site provides plenty of dampness so in cold weather bring an extra layer. But easy to access and neighboring campers said the hiking trails were fun and plenty full. Saw plenty of people in 4x4, motor bikes , and mountain bikes.

You can park at your campsite. There's also a lot nearby. Yes, you need to bring your own firewood, or buy some at the office when you check in
No
No bathroom. Some of the best water in the state for drinking though
Yes
There's one a few miles down the road called Nixon's
No extremely tight dirt road with lots of trees around and miles down a small road with weight limit to get there.
