I love this place. I had a bad expericence at an oil change place down the street.....did my oil change in a "Jiffy" and forgot to add new oil ....... so I found Valvoline in Downey. Such an awesome crew, they are really knowledgeable, helpful and customer service was 5 star!! Thank you Manny, Isaac and crew. I will definitely recommend this place to all!

I would never post anything negative about someone or the business but I feel that this is necessary because maybe I could use this experience to prevent someone else, from having too experience so much pain and heartache. I recently came in for oil change and I thought everything was fine. I drove my vehicle for two weeks straight and then on 7-2-2020, my vehicle started acting funny and started smoking just a little but I didn't think nothing as I got out and check to make sure all my fluids and everything was fine and it appeared that way. I was located in San Diego and ran inside to get something out of the store and came back outside, someone notified me that my vehicle was leaking oil really bad and then at that moment, I immediately attempted to make a phone call to the store located at this address but no one answered. The next thing I decided to do was to go to the nearest location and I did attempt to do that but I was not aware that the location no longer existed but there was a huge Valvoline still present. At that moment, I was left with no other than to take it to the nearest shop and see if they could just tell me what's wrong with it while I try to get in contact with the location (which is this location). I spoke with the general manager (Hector) and he advised me that since I couldn't come to there location then there is nothing they can do and also made a derragatory racial, remark towards me. I then contacted immediately the corporate office and explained to them the situation and that the situation is urgent and I need answer or response immediately. I then was contacted by Midas (who was too only see what was wrong and nothing else). At that moment they advised me exactly ( whoever last changed your oil) stripped the bolt, so bad that there is no way they can even put it back in so that I could go to the nearest Valvoline location and that the only solution is too have it immediately fixed or towed because the screw cannot even go back in as seen below. I then contacted the General Manager once again and he advised me that "They are not going to do anything, since I did not bring it to them, although I advised them that there is no way for me to bring in the car, it is not even possible to drive and that I cannot afford for it to be towed over 100 miles, as i'm in San Diego, working At that moment. I once again contacted Corporate office to advise them that no one had contacted me to deal with this matter. At that moment, they advised me that the claim had been denied and I question why did it get denied when no one has even called me to figure what happened or listen my side of the story. I requested that the Area manager contact me soon as possible. The area manager did contact me soon as possible and not allowing me to even finish my conversation, he begin arguing with me and insinuating that i'm lying to them and that i'm blaming them for something that's not there fault. I told them that they are the last ones who changed my oil actually twice because they had already messed my car up once and gave me the wrong oil change, once already. Not only have I had 3 bad experiences at this location but now my car is in a position with an $1,000 bill that I cannot afford and unfortunately as a college student being transparent as I can. My car, is my only way to make money and survive. Without my money then i'am at a high risk of being homeless. The unfortunate part is that If I was caucasian or Latino, and spoke Spanish, then there would be no problem being equal and fair, to treat me the same like everyone else and if so, then the General Manager would have never made the racial remarks, that he did. I would never just blame someone or a company for something but the facts are the facts and this is serious and needs to be deal with accordingly as it is the right thing to do, respectfully. I pray to God, that Valvoline, will handle this is in a serious manner and treat me the same like everyone else and avoid any legal, as I just would like for my car, to get fixed. I recommend any other location..
