I LOVED this so much! I honestly didn't know what to expect when we decided to do this. It was VERY COLD the day we decided to go and had to park about the 4th or 5th lot down, very easy to maneuver from lot to path, the hill going up was a little rocky (I definitely couldn't take my elderly mom this route, will check if there is an easier way for her next time we go) once up to the top, have to go through the entrance of the cave, greeted and I was amazed by how warm it was in the cave! Plenty of room to walk at your own pace and is lite pretty well too (except a few spots but that is okay too). Well worth the hill climb to see this!! Highly recommend!!!

Was an AMAZING experience!!!! I thought it was going to be just Christmas displays like Santa and elf's snowmen etc... It was mich better it brought Jesus' story to life in a beautiful way... I'm going to start coming every year... Heard they are going to have an Easter event I hope to be there too!! 💜We love to hear this! Our hope was to become a new tradition for our area at Christmas! Come see us at The Easter Cave in the Spring!

Yes, the kind with durable wheels. You’ll be pushing through gravel the whole time. The weaker “umbrella stroller” does not work, though. Enjoy the trip!
No, The Christmas Cave is closed for the season. Our last date was Dec. 22nd.
Allow yourself 45 minutes to an hour. While, you could rush through in 30 minutes or less, you would miss the joy of the details. I hope you have a chance to go.
We are not handicap accessible. We do set special hours for handicap visits where our volunteers drive visitors through the exhibit. We have had two such extended hours this year and plan to do so each year coming. Follow our FB page - the White Gravel Mines for details...
It's completely free. They do ask for donations if you want to give. It's not required.

I'm going to say no. This is from their web site: HOURS: We are open every Friday and Saturday between Black Friday to Christmas from 4pm-10pm. The Mine gate will open starting at 4pm with the gates closing at 10pm. Anyone inside at the time of the gates close may stay to explore the exhibits freely. Actual dates of service: November 23, 24, 30th and December 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21 and 22nd for 2018.
You will not get wet and it is only a 3/4 mile walk. Well worth the trip.I am going for my 4th time tonight

2021 Information: Yes you do need to walk up a mild hill trail to get to the mine entrance. The exhibit inside is relatively flat, but with some areas of soft, sandy spots which can be difficult to negotiate. We are unable to provide transportation due to safety concerns.

From our FAQ's at whitegravelmines.com: 5. PETS: No pets are allowed. Service animals welcome to come with appropriate tag to allow guest entry. This is strictly enforced. There are great reasons why 1.) Being a mine of gravel, it could appear to your pet that it's one giant kitty box or could pick up an old scent from a outdoor critter. 2.) We will not be held responsible if there was a pet attack on our guests or another pet. This is a pet free zone. Thanks for the question!
