This is an icon in Malibu. My first date with my wife was at this restaurant. So this restaurant occupies a specific place in our hearts. After we spent an afternoon at El Matador State Beach, we came here to eat on our way back home. I was surprised when I called the restaurant to make reservation and the receptionist told me there was no wait. It was a Thursday night at around 7pm, the restaurant was half full only. I remember before the pandemic, this place was always packed and the wait was always long. After we sit down and tried to order food, it took our waiter a long time to show up at our table. it looked like he was very busy as he was serving many tables. It took awhile before our food came out. We had steamed clam, linguine with scampi and linguine with clam. All dishes tasted like they were using the same sauce and they were to salty too. I remember before, steamed clams were cooked with wine and butter, tasted fantastic. It was definitely an unsatisfied meal. And the environment seemed to be depressing as the restaurant looked run down. We also noticed that the prices had gone way up for food. But with this kind of service and mediocre food, I can see why the restaurant’s business had gone down. It’s sad to see that Gladstone had spiraled into this state. Hope the mangement would make some changes to revive this iconic restaurant.

I had not been here in a really really long time. It's much more casual than I remember from years ago but still amazing food and just steps away from the ocean. Prices are fair for what you're getting. Service was pretty good. She was attentive and nice. I brought my friend from out of town who'd never been to the California coast before so she loved it 🏖️

Used to be one of the best restaurant in Malibu Beach area. Do not expect good service. You have to wait for services with patients. Patio is good when is not windy otherwise stay inside. Check in desk at entrance was very nice. She takes you to the table with good smile. Enjoy your afternoon at the beach!

Enjoying a beautiful Winter sunshine day after a night of rain. Great place to enjoy family and friends. Service was fast and friendly. Great selection of seafood. Cocktails are worth the price. Not water down drinks.

If you come on the weekend you will see plenty of Women in G strings and bikini's. As Gladstones sits on the beach.
Hi there, Currently we are not taking reservations. It is first come first served but we do seat all guests. You can grab a drink at the bar and if there is a wait, it's relatively quick depending on the day. We look forward to serving you!
I tried calling the day I went to eat and decided to just drive by and it was open. Not sure why, but phone was never picked up when I called. I went on a Sunday. The day I went it was a Sunday and they closed at 6pm.
From what I saw they have the same hours and menu as always except limited to outdoor seating only
We had our own waiter who introduced himself to us. He was outstanding. Service was excellent.
This seems to be a rumour...it's a restaurant on the shore of the Pacific Ocean. It's open air..if little things travel underfoot..nothing to worry about... the food is amazing If you see rodents on your plate...that would be time to complain.
Not sure about 'official' happy hour, but with the views and atmosphere it is a great time whenever.

Yes, access adjacent to Gladstone's entrance from the parking lot. Pacific ocean and Sandy beach...take towels.😉
