We went to Retro Bowl today to have a fun family afternoon for our son’s 8 year old birthday. Upon entry, the owner shared that they were understaffed. I apologized and agreed that this is a challenging time to be fully employed. An employee walked up to the owner and told her a lane was broken and she asked him to help me and our family while she fixed the lane. He proceeded to help and asked me what we wanted to do. I asked him if there were any specials and he said kids bowl free. I said we would like 5 adults and 2 kids for two games. He said $85 and I gave him my card. The owner walked back over and asked him what he was doing… and if I showed him the coupon in my phone for kids to bowl free. She looked at me and asked if I had the coupon and I said I would get it. She said she would t tell me how because it wouldn’t benefit her. She then turned to her employee and reprimanded him which included yelling at home for mentioning kids bowl free to us. He looked so embarrassed and apologized to her sharing he had never done the cash register before. She made him decline the transaction so she could charge us for the kids. Then continued to yell at him. It was completely uncomfortable and totally unprofessional. I told her we would not be bowling today because she was rude and didn’t treat her employees right. She then began to yell at me in front of my children. It was the worst experience ever and she is the reason she can’t keep employees. We will never be back.

Love the idea of "kids bowl free" but to charge $4.50 for each shoe rental seems a bit much. Think they upped the charge for shoes to offset the free bowling. Doubt we'll be back.

Bought 3 games for my friend and I, and not a single game played correctly. Machine got off cycle every game we played. $40 for 3 games might as well go to a nicer cleaner bowling alley such as main event or pinstripes.
