While we went on the tour, literally nothing happened. The Amish were nowhere to be seen since it was a Sunday. Of course, we could’ve known that they had Sundays off of their work because it’s a very traditional community, but it would’ve been nice if the organization of these tours had notified us about this. I think they should either stop offering the tour on Sundays or charge less money for it. We kind of feel like we’ve been scammed. I’m sure the tour could’ve been nice on any other day of the week, but I definitely would NOT recommend going on Sunday.

Love it! It’s was an amazing experience. If you want to know more about the Amish you definitely have to come here!

We loved going around the taking photos of their houses, quilts and items for sale. Great furniture, barns, bird houses and yard items made by them. The horse and buggies on the road were fun to watch. Watching them cut and place the corn stocks by horse drawn machines, it was amazing to watch how they do it! They don't have child labor laws here. The full family is involved in this process!

The staff were nice and the program started on time. We got the premium your which included the house which was interesting too. Make sure to stop by the school. It is right in the middle of the farm behind the tobacco storage, as I remember. They had raw milk, Fresh butter and free range eggs for sale plus some fresh produce. I give it four star because the the the shuttle we took was not clean and some oil dropped on me from the ceiling as I was sitting on the back seat.

We rented a house for a weekend via HomeAway
you cant be a pen pal with a amish person as the amish society and culture restricts amish people from having contact with those that arent amish . you can ask an amish person but the answer be most likely no .
I would recommend the 3 hour full tour it's around $50 a person well worth it. Joe is a great guide!
I think town was the cheapest and from there you can get more time and different places for a little bit more. I just went back in April and the cheapest was $25 also they have a Sunday special I believe but dont quote me on that. :-)
the full experience where you meet real amish families at their farm, home, and business was 69.00 and worth EVERY penny
I did not do that activity specifically.
This really just depends on the infant. Many sleep through our experiences...hopefully you won't!
Theres only one tour with this place. If you go on certain times you will see them milking cows.
No, just drove around and checked places out.
Very beautiful landscape. Many shops to visit. Horse buggy ride was fun. Only problem is that the area over the years has started to become over-developed. Still fun to visit but please Lancaster County , don't lose your beautiful rolling hills and Amish farms to Malls and Home Depots
