My experience overall was amazing. I was impressed by the overall service. I have had very bad experiences with dentists in the past. The staff really makes you feel welcome and comfortable with no judgment. They explain everything in detail when doing any procedure. They listened to any concerns I had. They frequently asked If I was okay. After my visit they helped reschedule my next visit. We went over any insurance payment information and out of pocket costs in detail. I highly recommend Trinity Family Dental.

Trinity Dental with Dr. Shen is awesome. I have finally found a dentist that really cares and listens to you. He and his staff are so gentle and so polite. I have had some horrible experiences with dentist in the past and now for the 1st time I no longer tread going to the dentist. Dr. Shen is just incredible, the BEST ever!! :-)

My gums was hurting and feel liked infected, Dr Shen answered the phone himself and scheduled me and seen me the same day. Letty and Janelle was very caring, too. Thank you very much!

I have to take a moment and leave a great review for Dr. Shen. My family and I are new here and he first saw my 7-year-old son and he was extremely pleasant. Then today I had a very small cavity and I was in and out of the office in 12 minutes!!! Amazing. It was actually less invasive than the cleaning I received a couple weeks ago. (A bit rough but that was due to the hygienist and my teeth did feel extra clean afterward!) I am still amazed thinking about that cavity experience. As a person who had a traumatic dentist experience as a child, it's really a wonderful thing to see my kids and my entire family have good experiences. Dr. Shen is very gentle, very professional, and just a nice person. He has a combination of everything you would want in a dentist.

Questions & Answers

Does fluoride really help protect teeth?

Yes, fluoride has been scientifically shown to prevent cavities in children and adults.  Thankfully most of the metropolitan cities have already fluoridated their water system, which have prevented many tooth decay in children and have even been called the biggest health prevention benefit in humankind!  We know that for some this topic can be controversial, but ultimately the evidence has proven otherwise and fluoride has been one of the most effective ways to prevent early children tooth decay.

Are there early signs of dental trouble to look out for?

I would say that oftentimes when you start to have problems with your gums or teeth, it is already too late as far as prevention.  But certainly some early signs would include bleeding and swollenness of gums which would indicate gingivitis (inflammation of the gums) or even gum disease (loss of bone around the teeth).  As far as the teeth are concerned, sensitivities can be signs of cavities, however, when you have pain or abscess, it usually means that the decay has already reached the nerve of the tooth.  Unfortunately many dental diseases are silent killers meaning by the time it becomes an issue, it is already too late.  Therefore, prevention and going to the dentist for checks up are the sure way to prevent any dental diseases.

I might have an abscess tooth. Is this something that will go away on its own?

A tooth abscess won't go away without treatment, and the bacterial infection from a tooth abscess can be dangerous if it enters the bloodstream. You should see your dentist as soon as possible for a correct diagnosis and treatment plan.

What are some of the early signs of gum disease?

Trinity Family Dental | Sep 6, 2021
Trinity Family Dental | Sep 6, 2021

Some early signs of gum disease are inflammation of the gum and bleeding when brushing or flossing. This is called gingivitis and when gingivitis is not treated it then leads to gum disease. Therefore, it is important to have regular dental exams and cleanings to ensure that your gum and bone is healthy!
