I am not against doing things correctly, but in a city like Hialeah where chances are your next door neighbors house is a code violation titanic and then When you try to make your house look better and improve on legit and the city does nothing but hassle you leads me to believe that the best way to do things on your house is just like your neighbors. Statistically speaking Hialeah homes are almost 85% out of code yet the city loves to pick on the ones who follow the rules

The trashiest building department everrrrrrr!!!!! They do not pick up calls! If you finally get an answer they literally put you on hold until you give up. They hope you hang up. Poor service!!!!! If I could rate them 0 stars I would!

This was the first time I needed to request a permit for work on my property. From Building Dept (Janet and Jenny), to Zoning (A. Hernandez Jr), it was such a good experience as they were so kind to assist in anything I needed.

Its really sad to say. I believe lack of good leadership/management. Process for requesting inspection is far better now via email, but Just recently requested an inspection and they departmnt could not find my proof of payment. had to look for and resend something they should have had in their systems. - Please fix/improve your Procedures, it's really embarrassing. - Contractor's have to wait around at a Job site all day waiting for the inspector as the system provides to no time. - I have had multiple contractors hate doing work in my area when we tell them its with Hialeah. Heads up for those requesting Inspections, take a picture of the receipt and include it just in case so it does not delay your process and get ready to wait at the job site all day for the inspector.
