I came here on vacation to repent and to ask for mercy for rejecting God for many years. After hearing the stories of St. John Maximovitch I knew I had to turn to his place of worship to gain strength. For many days I prayed all the way there to the steps of the cathedral. Upon entering it shattered every doubt as the holy art filled my eyes from the floor to the huge onion domes. I could not form prayers or words in my mind it was hard. I went before St. John to pray and as I saw him I begin praying clumsily. I realized it was already answered. It left me confused and shocked. On my way out I bought his icon from a very nice woman at the front desk. She venerated it and generously gave me holy oil as she generously gave my sister an icon card, oil, and communion. She said to me "Christ has arisen". Thank you for you're embrace and you're kindness. I will never forget this short but meaningful time within the cathedral.

Heartless. I was shocked when I called on Thursday April 14 2022 at 6pm and asked them if they can help a Ukranian refugee that I am hosting. Help with anything....introductions... work...help.. The woman on the phone with an ice cold voice told me "the refugee can pray, we help with prayer not with anything else" I am myself Russian and this makes me angry and makes me want to cry at the same time. This is a church. How can this woman be so cruel.

It is a place to enjoy peace with your soul. I love being in this cathedral. We drove here right from Pennsylvania. It is a holy spirit place indeed.

Yes. The church request that women wear attire that covers knees and elbows and to cover their heads inside the church. I believe it is what is requested to be respectful, but not required. When we visited my friend had on Bermuda style shorts and she was still permitted. There is a basket in the entryway of scarves that anyone may wear to cover their head while visiting. I am not sure of the dress code for men.
It is recommended to put on a thin windbreaker jacket. The windy weather will be a bit cold in the morning.
