Our second trip at the South Carolina trophy hunters lodge, there new lodge makes the experience of hunting feel more personal and a home away from home. From the delicious southern cooking by Londa to the comfortable hunting stands driven to everyday. Our guide Hunter really puts in the extra work and effort, he is awesome and enjoys what he does and it pays off because all 4 of us got hogs! We will definitely be booking to come back next year and look forward to another great time! Thanks to Darlene as well for setting us up and having everything organized for our stay! It was a blast!

4 stars only because they were not all set up at their new lodge. But I'm sure they will get it done. Everything else was awesome! The food was excellent and our guide was great. Would definitely do it again.

March 4-5, 2022: Food was good, people were very hospitable, but the hunting was a wildly disappointing experience. A buddy and I went on a 2 day hog hunt where we sat early mornings and late afternoon/evenings each day but didn’t see any wild life other than a few turkey one morning and squirrels. Never even heard any large game rustling thru the woods. Another group of 4 guys also didn’t see or hear a single hog over their 2 days. The group departing when we arrived was there for 3 days - yup, not a single hog. I understand this is hunting and nothing is guaranteed but when 8 guys don’t see or hear a single hog over the course of almost a week, something is off. Our guide was extremely nice and knowledgeable, but there didn’t seem to much effort put into pre-locating hogs and putting us in position to see them. Seemed more like an assigned driver, transporting us out to stands based on feel and/or guessing. I feel bad making such a reference because the guy was super nice and around all hours of the day (I don’t think he sleeps), but you would think with 7000 acres and all of the alleged trail cameras, we would have been put in a position for at least one person to see a single hog! Nope, nada! Anyways, accommodations were fine. It was more like normal house with 3 bedrooms and small living room than it was an actual hunting lodge. Never saw a fire pit, and walk-in cooler to hang your kill wasn’t working (not that it mattered since there were no kills!). Meals were by-far the best part, and the lady doing the cooking was very nice. Never saw the owner or any of the family members, which was pretty odd that they wouldn’t want to meet their customers and just opt to leave the entire customer experience to one guide and a cook. All in all, we felt like we got sold a false bill of good - the hunting is definitely not as advertised. This place must thrive on new customers because I can’t imagine anyone coming back. No one we met was a repeat customer either - now I know why. I definitely won’t return.

After hunting at many outfitters I feel this place pumps way too many hunters through the door. I had met a solid 20 people in three days and none of them really saw game and neither did we. It seems a bit misleading on offering High bag limits and being told by the owner that they have a lot of game. Nobody saw hog for the whole time out of all those people. The stands seem to be very overhunted. Darlene the cook is amazing though and has delicious food and The lodges pretty good. I would not recommend this place or return given the experience for the actual hunting.
