The Walmarts in my area are generally a hot mess that I avoid. When my tire had a tread separation on a road trip on a Sunday, this Walmart was the only place in the area open with the right size tire in stock. I wasn't looking forward to it, but it's what I had to deal with. The service techs there were excellent. From arrival to departure, it barely took them an hour for two tires, despite being busy. No push for unnecessary services. They understood the situation and worked quickly to get us back on the road with minimal delay. I can't say I'll necessarily be back through Galax, VA, but if I am and I need anything, they've earned my business.

Had a flat tire nearby and AAA told me to wait for two hours to get the spare installed. I already had the spare installed so AAA was useless to me. Arrived at this store 15 min before close. The employees were friendly and installed new tires. Without this shop, I had to spend a night nearby. Special thanks to the mechanic who served my car and Mr. Nicholas C. Baldwin who welcomed me at the gate.

The tires I got are okay. The service I received was not. I walked in through the customer service entrance and all the workmen that were there walked away from me so I figured I was not suppose to check in there and went on inside. The lady said no I needed to check in with one of the guys outside. The guy who finally assisted me was very curt and would not look me in the eye. He said the would not call me or call on the overhead when they were done and that should just come back later. I won't be going back there.
