I've lived in this area for over 20 years and have seen this location change hands multiple times. While I was excited to see Arooga's initially come in and really revamp the place, I was pretty quickly and repeatedly turned off. This restaurant does what so many other chains do- they value quantity over quality. The menu is beyond overwhelming (I'm talking over 6 pages!) but offers nothing innovative. Most of the menu is fried sports bar food (which I totally understand, given the theme) but even freshly made food seems to have a greasy taste to it. All of this gets coupled with the fact that all of the furniture in the dining room hasn't been replaced in at least 20 years (which I know because I've been frequenting this locale under different ownerships for that long). The furniture is cracked, scratched, and downright ugly. The rest of the ambiance follows in the same manner. I very much want to like this restaurant and have given it MYRIAD chances but it continually disappoints so I've stopped going.

I have to say I am throughly disappointed with this place, based on where it was located I thought I was in for good food being that it looked like a mom and pop spot. The cheesesteak was the worst I ever had, the meet was dry and the customer service, it had no may, Lettuce, no tomatoes, no grease nothing but dry meat on a soggy bun it honestly tasted like it was just thrown in the microwave. The fries had no crunch and was so soggy it was pathetic. The seafood nachos where served cold but once heated up it was actually quite delicious. I sadly do not recommend this place

Have been coming here for awhile as it is one of the few places in Shippensburg with decent food. Will not be coming back for a long time!!! Ordered takeout and it took over an hour and a half of waiting standing at the counter for my food. Sad to see a once good place to grub at leave such a sour taste in my mouth and when me and my girlfriend finally did receive our food the portioning seemed smaller than usual. No apologies, no waive, no anything just placed our food on the counter and walked away back into the kitchen. Sure busy night but two hours of waiting watching people come in after us receive their food first??? Cmon now..Would’ve much rather went to the store and made my own food than wasting two hours total between driving, waiting, and listening to drunk college girls partying all night. Very disappointed Aroogas… will not be back and am taking my business elsewhere

Great food and cold beer. Restaurant has a great layout with lots of seating. Nice big bar separated from the dining areas. Wings were very good and have all of the usual aroogas ordering options which are a big bonus. Service was great on a Friday evening. Soft pretzel appetizer and burgers were excellent as well.
