I relocated to the Greater Boston Area in August 2021 for work / graduate school and have been seeking services such as Orientation and Mobility (O&M) from the MCB since late August. In early September I completed an eye exam with a local ophthalmologist so that they may certify my legal blindness and submit the appropriate forms. I have left countless voicemails, sent at least four emails and had the provider that completed my exam submit the form a total of three times and have still yet to receive any acknowledgment from the commission. Two months have passed since my first attempts of contacting them and still no word. For anyone looking for services through the MCB, start the process early, apparently it will take a while. Also, best of luck with O&M on your own! :( UPDATE: If you are looking to get through to someone, I would recommend using Facebook Messenger. The representative forwarded my information to someone in registration that reached out to me. After that one phone call on 11/04/2021 I have yet to hear from anyone, so back to Facebook Messenger with fingers crossed. This is by far my worst experience with any agency designed for the disabled, and I have been dealing with my vision impairment since birth (27 years). Very disappointing.
