Cecropia Strong

Cecropia moths are the largest moth or butterfly in North America. I used a Luna moth as a mentor in my book "The Grey Ghost," and I would hatch these giant silk moths from cocoons and take them into schools on author visits. When I had my stroke, my brain was numb from the damage the stroke did, and I felt like a cecropia moth emerging from my cocoon. I had to re-learn what my body could do (and not do!) That's the first word in our name. "Strong" was from Boston Strong during the aftermath of the marathon bombing. We came together then, and we'll come together now to help people with disabilities find the best lives possible!
