It's pretty much just a barracks. It's decorated like my grandma was in charge of picking things out. They do have hot chocolate and coffee in the lobby though.

Lodging prices tripled from 2018 with no increase in quality. There is much more to offer in the commercial brands in Anchorage for near the same price and you are not wakened at 0730 by F14's launching off the runway. Not sure what happened with prices, but there is no benefit to servicemen, veterans or retirees here anymore. Thank you Air Force/Army for letting your committed service members down.

The front desk ladies were very helpful. Parking is located behind the building from where google drops you off. Also, there is lodging on the Air Force side and the Army side. However the 'front desk is on the Air Force side. Rooms are large with ample area for storing baggage. However no separation between sleeping area and living room area.

Some buildings can be excessively hot or cold mid season i believe due to having central heat that gets switched on/off based on calendar day versus actual outside temperature. Prices now reflect average local economy prices for a room but are not competitive due to the above. It used to be a deal at $35/night and you just tolerate the lack of comfort, but is now well over $130/night. Room service and staff are on point though.

As you seem to know, rates vary dependent on rank and status. Such as active, retired, or government employee, on TDY, or on vacation. Rates are also different for different rooms and can change at any time due to several other reasons. Call the front desk or use the website to find out how much a room would cost for you. During peak tourist season, the big question is whether a room is available or not. If you DO get a room, it can be as much as $200 LESS than rooms in conventional hotels in Anchorage. At this time, no breakfast of any kind is offered. But you do get coffee! I hope this helps.
Guests are given rooms according to their needs. Standard room are like a hotel , 1 or two beds etc. Family or groups may get an efficiency suite with livingroom, kit, bath, moor than one bedroom etc. They are not the Ritz, but are a lot better than a cheap motel.
Very expensive $150.00 per night. There are nice places downtown cheaper
