Atrocious service and corrupt business practices. They did not have the medicine our dog needed, despite discussing it with them the day before when they called to confirm our appointment. They administered far more tests than we asked for resulting in an absurdly large bill (over $500 for a routine checkup and 2 shots). They kept our dog for 6+ hours and would not allow us to be with them, despite our dog's medical condition and the stress it causes him. We thought it would be convenient to join Banfield so we could see vets all over the country without needing a new checkup each time, but this is the third Banfield we have had a horrible experience at. They overcharge, the vets refuse to see you and sometimes won't call you, they have very high wait times, and they're constantly pushing additional tests that we don't need.

Very frustrating experience, poor communication, no upfront pricing. It felt so impersonal. Did not leave feeling confident even after asking questions. They mixed my pets up and even mixed up doses of medication. The whole experience felt rushed (despite waiting hours) and never felt like we received adequate information especially from vet. We will never use Banfield I recommend taking to a real vet and a non "retail like" model business that seems more interested in selling you things you don't need or charging you for things you didn't ask for.

Have used the Banfield network for dog care for a few years and have used several other locations when living in other states. It seems having a plan for a nationwide network would make visiting new locations simple and painless, but not the case here. First routine wellness check and vaccine update at this location resulted in a list of additional labs and shots ($$), as well as a phone call to tell me my dog needs medication for his anxiety ($$). Not once in 4 years at any of numerous previous vets or kennels has anxiety been mentioned, and definitely not that any previous staff has felt threatened to the point of needing to use a muzzle (even when he was coming off meds from being neutered). When pressed to explain the anxiety and muzzle, I was told he was not muzzled for showing signs of aggression?? As I said, he has been to a number of dog places in 4 years because we move and travel a lot, and this is the first location that has ever said they had a problem. And, yes, this includes drop-off services through COVID.

When I couldn’t get in to my vet clinic for an emergency, Banfield, was there to help!! I called around to a bunch of vet clinics, and they all said they couldn’t help because of their overbooked schedules. Even though Banfield was busy, they still took us in. I was beyond appreciate— They got both of my dogs in quickly, and gave them such great care. I could tell the vet and staff truly care about their job, but most importantly for the animals. The love they showed my dogs was purrfect! I will continue to use Banfield in the future.

We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?

Banfield Pet Hospital | Sep 5, 2020

Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
