This review is long overdue, but I still want to share it. We lived here for 5 months last year while my husband was working as a travel nurse in Charlottesville. Every single staff member was so kind to our family the entire time! Every time I walked into the office someone greeted my girls and I with a big friendly greeting. They had events for the kids on all the holidays. We were there over Christmas and they came around as Santa and Mrs. Claus on the back of a truck. It was seriously the best campground we've stayed at so far all because of the people who run this place!

I did not visit this place never have but my friend lives near there so I guess they thought I did but I went down some road near there and I do thoughtfully find turtle taking forever to cross the road it was scary and looked scary and it was a snapping turtle not a painted one but it's ok because no one bothered me while moving him:) so it was a nice visit actually big yay

Great place and well maintained, but I am a disabled veteran and there were not any handicapped bathrooms and shower facilities.

What I wasn't a fan of is the bathroom stall doors are to high off the floor and I could see another's knees/thigh area. Mind you I am only 4'11 so someone being a tad taller might not. I would take the door off and lower the hinges by 2 inches and add locks on the doors, just saying. The campsites are roomy for we had plenty of room to spread out and lots of shade trees.

I do not believe that is true. If the person who told you that rented from them, it must have been some kinda special circumstance.

How far is the James river foot bridge

debbie heath | Nov 17, 2017
Jason Marston | Nov 18, 2017

The James River is further East.... I have been to parts of it but never the footbridge, but a rough guess is 3 hours, but if you go that direction anyhow there is an amazing trail that was partially closed off the day i went on it. Its called the Nolands Trail and you can see some of the James River from the trail... I am going to have to look online to see exactly how far away the footbridge is from where I typically go. ( By the way, this is not Jason Marston, this is Margo... I just received an email from where i answered this and realized my phone is on his account at the moment instead of mine
