Wow this small out of the way base has wide spacious concrete sites, we were so surprised and happy. We stayed two days on our way up the east coast. It was a great break for us and they have an amazing Delicious Orchards grocery store that is huge and carries everything. Unfortunately we went on a Saturday and it was so busy you couldn't hardly walk through it. If you are traveling up the east coast and want a nice place to stay on your way, this is it!!!

It is not open in the dead of winter but it is very much dog friendly.
Your father could definitely reserve the spot here but you have to have a military ID card to get onto the base or have someone with a military ID card to get you onto the base each time you enter. If your father is going to be with you it won't be a problem.

I'm not sure. I do recall there being others who could stay besides retirees and active duty. Call the NWS Earle main number and ask. They're always quite helpful.
I'm pretty sure they do but you would have to call the front desk for availability. I've been here since March 2018 and leave here at the end of February
