We had an amazing time on our 4 hour trip! The boat was nice, the rides out and back were fun, and Captain James did an excellent job getting us right on good fishing. He was fun and knowledgeable. We caught enough for lunch - which were cleaned and packed up for us to take over to Crabby’s - and released a ton more! It was so much fun, definitely worth the money! I worked with Helen before the trip to get everything scheduled and she was SO helpful and kind. She gave me all the info I needed and answered all of my questions.

We had a very memorable and fun filled day fishing with Captain James and Above Average Charters They are first class all the way The boat is roomy, comfortable and clean. Captain James was very knowledgeable, helpful, and informative. We will definitely fish with these guys again

This place was definitely "Above Average"! We had a great 4 hour trip trolling for Spanish Mackerel. Our Captain, Captain Rich threw in the first 2 lines and we had action immediately. When that spot started to die down he did an awesome job of keeping things moving so the fish kept hitting. Helen was very friendly and helpful in getting us booked, even providing us with some flexibility with what time we could start our fishing trip since our hotel was a couple hours away and gave us some good advice on managing seasickness. Take one Dramamine the night before your trip and one more the morning of your trip out to sea. The waves were a bit choppy when we went out, adding an extra bit of challenge and excitement to our fishing trip, but we had no problems after following Helen's instructions on taking the medication. If you've never been out to sea before, I highly recommend taking the Dramamine, just in case. Once we returned to land, Captain Rich swiftly fileted our fish and pointed us in the direction of Crabbys restaurant (which was right across from where the Above Average boats are docked) where we had our freshly caught fish cooked to order and they were delicious! I'm looking forward to booking my next fishing trip with Above Average again!

Can’t say enough good! Helen was amazing from the start at helping me make arrangements for the trip and keeping an eye out for opportunities which ended up making our trip a hundred times better. Our captain was more than personable and knowledgeable, and made the trip a successful one. Listen to what he says and you’ll be set! He truly enjoys what he does. Coming back he cleans your catch and will likely send you to crabbys just down the marina to get it cooked- follow that advice! It was delicious and great reward for a day on the water. The entire time from planning to saying “see ya next time” they were more than accommodating and friendly. We’ll be back to Clearwater if just for another trip with them. You’ve gotta get out there with them!
