Mixed feelings about Up Thai. First experience was very negative. We had just arrived in NYC from California, so it was late (9:30), and the restaurant closed at 10:00. We called to see the latest time we could arrive, and they said they’d seat us if we got there by 10:00. So we got a cab and rushed over. It was 10:00 when we walked up, but the guy at the front said it was too late. We told him about the call, but he shrugged and refused to seat us. I wouldn’t blame them for not wanting to seat us - if they hadn’t told us on the phone that we could be seated, causing us to waste time and money cabbing over. Despite that we decided to try again. And it was delicious. Everything we ordered was terrific. So … mixed feelings.

The food was good, the service was also really good. I loved their Thai tea, one of the best that I have had. I ordered the sticky rice instead of the regular rice that comes with the lunch special, I ordered the duck breast lunch special which was really really good. My sister ordered the pineapple fried rice lunch special, and it was delicious. We both really enjoyed our appetizers as well, I ordered salad and a spring rolls and she ordered the chive pancakes and salad. Highly recommend this place, and and the decor is really cute

I think this is the best Thai food I’ve ever had. Pad Thai noodle was very well cooked yet still chewy. Crispy shell crab with fresh mango salad. Duck tamarind was my fave. The sauce was a perfect combination of sweetness and sourness.

One of the best Thai tea I’ve ever had. The curry and deep-fried spring roll were also delicious. The only drawback of this place is that you might sit pretty close to other groups. Other than that 👍👍👍

My sister lives up there and she said they do. Used to live up there. She just moved
The restaurant has tables inside separated by dividers. They offer hand wipes at every table. Sanitizer throughout restaurant. Staff wears mask and gloves. They also have outdoor dining. There are individual rooms for small parties enclosed on the sidewalk. Definitely feel they take every precaution available.
During the week
No, they have a full bar service so you cannot byob.
Starters are around $10-15 and main $15-25
No reservation needed generally I just walk in with my party ( 2 to 4 people) during lunch time or evenings.
Let's guess 11a (when they open) to...3p? 2p?
