I am so grateful to the people who work here. They provide services and food to people who really need help. People who haven't had the easiest life whom white collar society tends to turn their nose up at. With the help of the staff (volunteers) at HUM, I am able to attend college!

Called to get help with meds was told to come in at 8:30 wait for brandy I could get a 60/90 or something like that.. got there at 8 sign on door say only 3at a time after countless people walked around me to get in door I decided to go in. Same man I spoke with on phone told me she was running late have a seat... waited about an hour and a lady comes in and say anybody waiting on me? So I asked who she was and it was brandy.. she asked what I needed in lobby full of people I told her she said you homeless I told her no which I told the man on phone day before... she say well we have no money only helping homeless now.. that’s fine but I wish her co worker knew that info so I wouldn’t waist my gas... then called about assistance with utilities after leaving messages for a few days finally got a person on the phone ext27... I began to say I was calling for help with... she cut me off saying won’t have money for that until November... I understand but she was rude I’m already stressed from losing my job and trying to find new employment and keep things in order for my child... just very discouraging dealing with them... they did say try a thrift store but I live across the street from where they stop helping people was told we can’t help everyone sorry... I’ve been here a few yrs and now see why Daytona beach have more homeless than Chicago... it’s hard to find help around here. I’m sure I’ll find employment soon but I may have to move back home if I can’t afford utilities can’t have my child in that type of environment...

I'm Seeking Homeless For my family. AND Keep Getting turn down. From them and Human Service Just trying to get help for my family. So our childern can be stable. Plus I have a job. So why no help and all these grants being drop to help people like me. But they help who they want.. smhd.. church not of God. God Help everyone. Feed more ppl with two fish and bread. And they can't even help us with Block grants, ESG Grants, etc.

Who are the shoes for, women, children or men?
Yes. At this particular location (and there a few around town) they serve a free lunch every day. On some alternating days they also offer showers and (I think) haircuts. Finding housing is another situation altogether. But I think they can put you in touch with the right people to help with that too.
I 'assume' they feed 7 days a week. Call them to be sure.
I don't represent H.U.M. best to call them direct. They start feeding @ 12 and there's usually a long line so try to be early. They also have showers and haircuts, but I don't know how that all works.
