I live right near this airport and haven't many complaints. Sometimes during the day you hear planes circling- but you really do get used to it. It's a nice private airport with a good amount of traffic.

Go watch airplanes? Fuggetaboutit. You can't get past security. Stand in the parking lot. Want to get to the back to visit a friend and their airplane. Fuggetaboutit! Security will grill you like a cheese sandwich. Go to Doylestown where they actually want you there.

Convenient airport for small private and commercial planes. Parking is free. Plenty restaurants and hotels in the area. 30 minutes from Center City.

Yes it is somewhat private. Commercial flights do not depart or land there. TNN is the Trenton airport which is 25 minutes away from the PNE
Either drive and take the Jersey turnpike or ride the Amtrak train.
