Great park for a camping week or weekend. We had a site next to the river and the sounds were perfect for sleeping. A three mile hike, tubing and swimming, everything you think of when you you consider going camping.

I just visited this park for the first time today and was very impressed. The Alum Cave trail was worth the 90 minute drive to get here. I highly suggest it to any hikers or wilderness lovers that want a new place to check out. I only passed two other people so I had the place to myself.

Really pretty area. We walked the whole path. I think it was around 5 miles. It's nicely shaded the whole way. Definitely not the most easy trail we've been on, it's got a lot of rocks, roots and hills.

A nice little state park with some easy, family friendly trails that go along the river. The boardwalk section underneath the rocks is really cool. I went tubing down the river a few summers ago and had a blast. The swimming hole just past the bridge is really nice when the water is high enough and a fun place to relax and swim.

they have both sites however they are probably booked for that weekend. you can check online at wvstateparks
Yes it is, for sure. Most park hours are sunrise to sunset, but check out the website to be sure. There are signs posted at the entrance to the park. Have fun and be safe.
Site 58 would be on the back side of the campgrounds I've rented lot 46 a few times and was still able to see the river from the front door of my camper and also right next to the restrooms which was a plus and the restrooms and showers are nice hot and clean
There is no cabins at Audra! But all parking is free!!. They have 2 parking lots to access the river and trails!! The campground is amazingly beautiful!. Plenty of parking there also!!
I believe their opened till October
You can buy wood there for 5 bucks a bundle or go to the local store lazy acres o think was called that food food and ice also for wood 4 bucks a bundle and better wood. Campsite ran out of ice when we arrived and did Not have ice for 4 days. Buy rtic cooler keep ice for a few days.
As of June 1, I believe it was $30 for a riverside lot with no amenities and $33 for riverside with electric. There are no lots with water or sewer. There are numerous picnic areas throughout the park and a really nice place to get in the river under the park access bridge. Cleanest water you'll ever find. Plenty of hiking and biking.
No. Electric and water, electric only, or primitive.
Here are the rules and regulations for carrying firearms in state parks in West Virginia. Me and my family have camped here several times and we have never seen a bear and the coyotes tend to stay away. I have never felt the need to have a firearm here even with my six-year-old daughter. http://www.wvdnr.gov/Parks/Regs/firearms.shtm
I would recommend that you do
I'm not sure sorry I'm lucky enough to I just moved close by and drive to the area to enjoy it's beauty but I can try to find out
304 457 1162 is the number..on lodging you do need reservations but camp sites with tents or campers you do not..you just pay for the amount of time your staying at arrival..
From $29 to $32 Have to make reservations online or by calling now.
Thank you both. I do have reservations, and also live 3 hours away. I tried calling them several times today but all I got was the answering machine.
Not sure about the rate but it's 10 to 15 dollar difference between the two I believe
Pittsburg is the closest. You can also look at Charleston, w.v. airport.
After school starts it is thinned out, let me know when your going to be there and i'll give you a tour of the area
Also river sites are a little more than non river sites
One of the more beautiful spots I've ever been in... it has been left very natural and wooded be very careful if you are bringing in an RV or camper the spots are small mostly for tents or small campers but it is well worth the trip
About to open again. Usually closes around October 15th. The park trails are beautiful year round. The lower rock trail is a must.
From what i am told an wad told twice it doesn't because of it being a river .
