We made an appointment for the passport, I guess the don’t feel like working today? Taped a paper on the door saying all passport appointments were cancelled. No advance notice what’s so ever and told us we can “try” tomorrow. We all have something called “work” that’s why people schedule appointments ahead of time. Not only the people in this post office are not nice, lack of work ethic, lack of professionalism and common courtesy.

We served by a lady with a glamorous humour (but if you don't have a sense of humour you might think she was rude.) She was actually taking care of my package and making sure everything is filled on the form correctly.

Stamps were hard to find but other than that the experience was fine.

Clerk#99 at 3:53pm today 02/26 made sure there was absolutely no ounce of kindness in the way she conducted her service. I fell in line, with a question about getting the right branded container that I already printed a label and paid for only to be dismissed by ordering me to go to the corner where all the packages are. Without her hearing my concern, and acknowledging that I already know there was no container there that matched the label I already made, I knew I was likely going to overpay or send my package with labels I wasn’t sure was right or enough. I went to the self-service counter, found out that shipping the branded box required a balance, so I only printed a label with the balance, but now have 2 tracking numbers and 2 labels on my package. I fall in line again, and this time when I ask which tracking number would be considered correct, the lady who acted with such inconvenience over my questions, said blatantly she doesn’t know, she’s where she is and not the one scanning so she can’t tell me. She basically doesn’t care about the value of my package or that I am simply trying to connect with her. In 5 min she managed to erode a customer’s faith over the post office, an establishment that has kept people connected despite distance, simply because she cannot bother to be a bit more human and add the bare minimum of care. I pity her for having no joy in her life that every interaction she had with people today sucked the sunshine out of it. We all have our bad days, but how little effort it took for her to drown mine.

Last December, I tried repeatedly over the course of a couple of weeks to call this Post Office, but the calls were never answered. In the end I called a Post Office in Hoboken about the package that had been lost in JC, and they provided me with some assistance.

Very disappointing. Even tho hours for passports state they take applications till 1:30... three times I heard they don’t do passports today because they understaffed... why even bother to post hours on your website and mislead your customers...

There is a moving form at the Postal office. Simply fill it out and hand it over to the clerk. That's it.
