I don’t usually spend my time filing a public complaint against a company, especially the company that used to have a great local reputation. But the actions of this company now warrant such a critique. We had canceled the company services years ago when we still lived in the area, because we saw a decline in reliability in-service. My mother, who is 80 years old, agreed to let one of their estimators look at her attic area to see if he saw evidence of any rats in her folder at home. He returned with news that he felt she needed new insulation, which is going to cost her $6000… Her house is about 1600 ft.². Outrageous. He also said they also found a little evidence of termite damage, and that she needed to tent the house, which is going to be another $3000. They also found a small hole in one of the vents tubes upstairs, and thought that that repair could be done for $1400. When our family heard about this, we were out raged. These are exorbitant, predatory pricing schemes that they would’ve only tried while talking to an elderly woman. To make matters worse, the estimator called my mother back the next day wondering if she wanted to do the job, and asking if she could pay the entire amount upfront because “the insulation are buying is very expensive, and we need to use it to buy it“. This is against the law, according to the state contractors board, and should warrant an investigation of losing their contractors license for such work. We have canceled their service, and contracted with another local service. I’m not looking for money back, and I’m not looking for an apology. But I want the public to know that in recent years this company has gone downhill, to the point where they are employing obviously unscrupulous individuals who are Price gal Ching Vonora bowl senior cytisine‘s in the area. You can look at other reviews around the Internet, I’m not the only one who has had their family cancel their service and voice complaints about what the company has to grade it into. No help. The BBB sent me through a huge process, a long wait, only to close the case and shut me out from any answers why. A waste of time and energy. The last thing I wanted was to be treated like that again after being treated like that for the very thing I was reporting.

On July 6, 2014, we had U-Pay-less appliance repair come to our home in Arvin, CA to repair our refrigerator. The problem was a computer board that was not allowing the refrigerator to go into "defrost mode". He replaced the computer board and said he gives a 90-day warranty on the repairs. We paid him cash. On July 18, 2014 our refrigerator quit working again for the same problem. He was called at approximately 6:30 A.M. in the morning and was advised of the same problem. He said he had work in Delano and wouldn't be able to get to us until about 4 P.M. At 4:20 P.M., I called and left a voice mail asking for an update on when he would be coming. No response. Two additional calls with voice mails sent as Urgent, and as of 6:45 P.M., Jul 18, still no response. As a result, I was forced to call another appliance repair business who couldn't make it before 12-3 P.M., Jul 19. That means we are forced to go 1 1/2 days without our refrigerator and food will be spoiled. Apparently the individual who runs U-Pay-less appliance repair is an individual. Don't know if he has a business license or not - did not ask.
