Absolutely loved this trip. Took about 3 hours to go downstream. Saw lots of turtles and different types of birds. Beautiful weather helped as well. Would love to come back again.

Great! Good and quality service! We did a 4 day trip, 3 days in the river, to the end of the Shenandoah. Shenandoah River Outfitters were the best, we ended up having an accident and totaling one of their canoes after the second day, they simply offered to bring us another canoe in a different point in the river that was close to us. They also sent a team to remove a log from the river that was a hazard. The base camp is nice and facilities work well. 100/100

These guys are hoot to talk to. Great place and they are on schedule. Great relaxing atmosphere and overall would rent from them again. Haven't checked out the other Outfitters but I don't think I need to.

My daughter and I went tubing for the first time this past week and everyone at Shenandoah River Outfitters was so friendly and helpful! We had so much fun and plan on returning! Thank you for the great experience!

Oh, so I went and here's the answer. There are two kinds of cooler tubes. Blue and yellow. Blue is smaller than yellow and is cozy for the taller roll behind like carryon luggage type coolers. The yellow one easily fit my bigger cooler which was about 27 inches wide and 15 or so inches deep. Happy float. And note that size does matter. It may not be an all day float (but 6 hours is a long time) we had a big crew with lots of people and kids who need snacks and things, so a big crew needs a big cooler. Cheers!
I.wont be in the erea
Please inquire within, walk-ins are welcome.
Yes but you have to use their tubes. They take you to the dropoff point where you pick up your tube thrm they pick you up at the end. Its a gorgeous float too
All depends on the weather, really. If it's a less than 60 degree day, you really don't want to be out on the cold river unless you're an extremist. Summer may surprise us and indeed extend itself, but most places in the area go dormant the first week of October unfortunately.
Excellent! Bixler's Ferry Landing/Bridge has a low water bridge you can walk across the width of the river and fish from. It's also an excellent 18 mile kayak/canoe run along the stretch of the road Shenandoah Outfitters is on which is a terrific habitat for all sorts of species of fish!
