Do you or does anyone in your group have a special diet? Plan your event here if you would like to have your group price gouged. Smokey Glen provided my daughter's school one option- chicken. With various sides. To get a veggie burger or veggie hotdog, it had to be purchased for an additional cost of $11.80 plus the cost of the food she couldn't eat. She also wasn't allowed to bring or eat her own food. The only options she had were to not attend her school's event, pay $17.80 for a $2-4 item, or go and not eat. Ultimately, the school paid the extra amount. This policy wasn't coming from the event coordinator. It came from Jim Sweet, the owner, who stated "the cost of the vegetarian meal unfortunately has to include all the other items that are not already included in the main meal. In addition, we must have extra staff on hand to prepare and serve these meals separately. The extra cost is more than justified." Extra staff to serve a burger that my daughter could microwave in 30 seconds. Note to event coordinators looking to use Smokey Glen- this business is not friendly to special dietary needs.

Dear Jim, was a little dry for my liking (no hate to butcher that was there). The potato salad was really good, and so was the corn. I played some kickball and volleyball and then later putt putt. Very enjoyable experience. One complaint about the baseball field would be the fact that the bases were removeable very easily. When players got out they liked to throw the bases at the opposing team. My personal proposal to solve this existential dilemma would be to stick stakes in it whenever requested by the party beforehand. As for volleyball, the lack of defined boundaries was cause for many debates on who won which points. Simple white lines painted over the boundaries would be extraordinarily helpful. Putt putt was good, but only complaint would be that I have to constantly reach over to pick up the ball. If piles were connected to the end area and sent towards the back of that given area, it would eliminate the previously mentioned issue. Ramps for moving golf balls into their courses would also be splendid. The DJ songs were a bit dull, however when one of my classmates was given a seizure and sent to the a hospital the music seemed to pick up a bit. Overall I’d give it about a two, all things considered. Average 3 stars job to EMS team for arriving as soon as possible. P.S. - The apple pie was straight fire in me as well as my classmates professional opinions. As was the soda machine.

Always a treat for the school groups of middle schoolers! Food is fabulous - especially the charcoal-baked pies! And the unlimited sports activities combine nicely with the DJ’s the groups hire.

Due to the restrictions put in place by the county, we are not hosting our Christmas tree sale this year. I'm very sorry and hope to see you in 2021.
Lillian, It is probably the Hilton in Gaithersburg, but there are 3 different hotels in the Washingtonian Rio area which are pretty close. Please call me at 301-948-1518 if you are unable to find out more information.
