As photographers in Stockton, we know there isn't much places to photograph. But Oak Grove park is our go to location and our couples love it here! The trees + grass here at the park changes with the season so it's always a different look!

June 13, 21 First time here. It was very nice. We had a large party (over 50) and reserved several tables by the water. There was plenty of shade and the weather was perfect. Easy access to parking made it nice.

$6 entrance fee. Trees. Cooler than surrounding area. Questionable fishing holes. No joy. Nice way to get out of the sun if you don't have the ability to drive 2 hours to the coast or mountains to cool off.

There have been severe cutbacks to funding for San Joaquin County Parks. There is not as much maintenance as there used to be, and unfortunately people who did those jobs were let go . . . 😱
The gates close at dusk. Summer hours are until 8 pm i believe but the current closing time is 6pm. The summer hours are from april to september.

Yes, also lots of activites, like paddle boats, fishing, and plenty of space or grasslands for the kids to run around and get tired lol
Not sure I'd say check fish and game website as well!👍🏿
Yes
You can rent the paddle boats there but you cannot bring your own boat.
Yes, there are men's and women's restrooms in the building next to it.
Yes
To the best of my knowledge yes.
They are random. Just call and they will give you the dates
The water has always been murky. I've been going there for about 5years, regularly.
There is trout in the pond but last week they only planted 500lbs of trout which isn't alot if you think about it, the pond should be stocking trout in between the January 27th and February 5th.
Ten bucks
It has been canceled this year
Plus the occasional bass. Closed to all fishing right now.
A few, but mostly specimens of the largest species of oak tree in North America: the Valley Oak.
There are common carp, bsss and blue gill in there too
It has fish but I went and played disc golf I don't know about the quantities and species
Yes
It was a flat rate of $6 and $1 for a pet. There are no senior discounts.
You need an ID to rent one but no age limit
Bruh, the only way I would use that tub of lard to baptize someone is if Jesus Christ came down from Heaven & turned it into beautiful clean Bahamas looking beach water
sign says 8am. Closes at 5:30 as of a few weeks ago.
Yes
Yes everything is a keeper max 5
yes, I believe the state limit in California is 10 lbs for cod.
The lake is not large enough to boat on. There are 2 person paddle boats available to rent at certain times of the year.
🌳 I am an officer on the Oak Grove Docent Council. To my knowledge, there are no rules prohibiting drones. That said, anything used must be responsible and respectful of others, both people and wildlife. 💖
No, but you can rent the ones they have there.
Yes you need a license. You can get one from any sporting goods store. You might be able to get a one day license. Wal mart and another store on Trinity Parkway both would sell them. As for bait I would use lure for bass, worms and salmon eggs for trout and catfish. No luck with power bait.
They have grill pits but they are pretty small unless you reserve one of the larger areas. They also have an real BBQ they can roll around, big enough to cook an pig whole. But yeah you can grill "bbq". Bring foil because the grates are gross.
5-10 for parking, more if its longer then 22 feet. 1 dollar for each leashed pet.
Not allowed and not advisable anyway. Water is filled with tiny leeches and God knows what kind of bacteria from all the bird feces.
On the day that I went they had just restocked they're Lake with fish. I believe catfish, trout... I was there about 2 months ago.
Theres a couple of first come spot with th bbq pit. And i believe sunrise
You would need to call, but you could always check their website for pricing and location options.
March 3rd for Mcmillen Memorial Tournament, and June 2nd Catfish Derby, November 17th Trout Bout
According to the CDFW website it was stocked on 11/12/2017.
They plant the fish weekly starting mid November. Remember that fishing licences are required and may be enforced. I don't agree with that but that's the way it is. Have fun!
It's seasonal
