Please caution and read before going to UCLA Health! This place is a rip off! Be extremely cautious of making an appointment here without asking upfront about the cost of their services and MAKE THEM TELL YOU how much it will cost with your insurance. They like to tell you that they won’t “accurately know”, but they should absolutely know and I would advise you ask qualifying questions so you don't get stuck with a $400 bill…just because. I went UCLA Torrance Skypark as a new patient specifically because I ran out of a prescription I’d been taking for years. I was new to town and had not found a primary care doctor yet. This location accepted new primary care patients. I am insured with BCBS which they gladly told me they accepted, but neglected to tell me they have a contract with this insurance provider which provides a fixed cost for billing. I went in for a routine new patient appointment with the aim of getting my prescription refilled. This was the extent of my appointment. I received a bill in the mail a few weeks later. The cost of the visit was WILDLY $896 and the contract cost after billing my insurance was a STAGGERING $376!! I thought it had to be a billing error, it was such a simple appointment. I contacted their billing/coding department and after a review they confirmed there was no error in billing. I have attempted contacting their patient services to file a grievance with their “office or patient experience” on at least 3 occasions to NO AVAIL. They do not contact you back at all. I even went so far as to file a complaint with the BBB which they just never responded to. This group has zero accountability and I want to save someone else the headache of dealing with UCLA health. At such a terrible financial time like this, these health care companies should not be just getting away with charging anything they want for these visits. It’s absurd a company could justify charging someone almost $900 for a new patient appointment with no specialty circumstance. No imaging, no blood work, no diagnosis…it’s not right. Furthermore, the billing specialist told me all appointments with this group range anywhere from $500-1000 for visits, that’s including primary care. This would have been helpful to know UP FRONT. This gives the customer a choice about whether this is a good fit. It’s a shame because the doctor that I saw was very kind and knowledgeable, but no one should have to be put in a situation like this for average healthcare. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere!

Turned up at 1140am to get blood drawn and was told that lunch is from noon - 1pm so the nurse couldn’t see me. Was told I could be seen at 1pm. At 120pm I chased the appointment and was told the nurse was still on lunch. Seen at 130pm and it took less than 5 mins to draw the blood.

Dr. Riutzel took the time to listen to all my concerns, ordered all the the test needed to help me and explained everything g in detail. He’s an amazing and kind doctor.

Most inefficient office i have ever encountered. Couldn't upload lab orders to Labcorp, couldn't fax lab order to LabCorp, wouldn't give parents the lab slip. Sat at LabCorp for 1.5 hours and they never faxed over the form, nor did they ever call us or respond to phone calls. Avoid this office. There are better docs and better run operations. UCLA or not, not worth it for your mental health.
